re: 'Kiss the Air' by Scott Alan

From Scott Alan's Youtube account:

"'Kiss the Air' was the first complete song that I ever finished. I wrote this song two weeks into my parents divorce. I wasn't very close with either my mother or father growing up but my mother was hurting and all she wanted was answers. Well, I couldn't give her answers, but I wrote her. I recorded it in a low budget studio and sent it to her with a note saying 'If Dad was man enough, I wish these were the words he would have said to you before he l

Well, it's mostly been said but here goes:

Most of Ragtime, but especially New Music and Wheels of a Dream-- I love Audra's voice

Most of Parade-- especially when Leo and Lucille sing together and the Prologue

I'm not a big fan of the musical, but in Tarzan, during For the First time when the two of them start to sing together.

The whole Louder than Words from Tick, Tick, Boom

Comfort and Joy, Inside Your Heart, and Apology to a Cow from Bat Boy

Singing is my passion, my first true love. I sing because I can't live without it.
re: Wicked Chicago Cast Changes

I have been taken with different people four times to Chicago (I'm not obsessed, but I am the only person who likes Broadway in my circle of friends). When I saw it in October Ana was the best I had seen her. I saw it December 17 and Ana sounded tired and her voice was like gaspy sometimes, it wasn't noticeable to the girl I was with, but I think it's time for someone new. I still loved Ana, and if you can see her go. Also in October I saw Kate's understudy, the name escapes me at the moment,
re: What if Broadway never were Disneyfied?
 Jan 4 2006, 01:25:54 PM
I completely agree with Plum as well. I am kind of tainted when it comes to this subject because my family is completely 'Disneyfied.' We go to Disney World at least 2 times a year and my sophomore year in college, I'll be interning down there. Still, I don't understand how people can be upset, for lack of a better word, with Disney for coming. I don't want Disney to get credit for rejuvinating Broadway; because at best they made 42nd street better, and I hate Michael Eisner (sp?) with a pas

I wish I would've known about that benefit earlier, I live about 45 minutes away from Urbana!!

Anyways, I love Hear My Song and I'd Give it all for You from Songs for a New World, and most of L5Y, which is the best musical all the way through ever!!

They did the Golden Mickeys and the Muse-ical on the Wonder when I went on it.
re: Don't you hate... (RENT related)
 Nov 18 2005, 11:15:59 PM
I can totally agree with the original post, after a while I stopped reading the whole post, but I got the gist. I think the same thing that is happening with Rent right now around you guys is happing to me with WICKED. It bugs me. I try to be optimistic and say that the people becoming obsessed with WICKED may also be interested in other theatre; but when I talk to those people they don't know much about the show itself, let alone any other show.
I am kind of an outcast when it comes

re: Rumors of certain musicals for my high school
 Nov 18 2005, 11:00:40 PM
My school is doing GREASE and it just pushed my decision not to do theatre this year from not sure to absolutely not. I will be doing track. We only have like 5 guys going out and maybe 3 can sing, but there are about a thousand girls, last year they couldn't really fit every girl on stage, but they tried and it looked silly. I still really want to do musical, but I don't like GREASE for a high school.

my two cents

re: You know your a deranged musical theatre fan when....

The staying home on Friday night thing got me. Another: When you're home alone, you turn up the stereo and belt out your favorite show tunes at the top of your lungs.

Waiting till there is no one in the house to shower so you can sing really loudly in the shower (everyone knows that's where the best tone comes out).

We're reading this in my English Lit. class right now, I'm actually really enjoying it. This could be really cool.

For Good- Wicked

re: Best Elphaba from Wicked...
 Aug 17 2005, 01:18:42 PM
I loved Ana when I saw her. I agree that she didn't blow me away like Sho did in Wizard and I, but her voice was amazing in Defying Gravity. I like her the best.
re: Best Broadway Quote

I gotta second the
"We can't all come and go by BUBBLE"

and

Glinda-"I'm worried about Fieyro. He's been thinking."
Fieyro-"I've been thinking."
Elphaba-"Yeah, I heard."

re: Wicked in Chicago 8/3
 Aug 11 2005, 11:28:28 AM
I saw the show yesterday and loved it. The who cast was amazing and I didn't see any gayness coming out of Kris at all. He and Ana were perfect together. Ana's voice was very strong. Can't wait till September 11th to go again.
re: Aladdin!!
 Aug 8 2005, 04:48:40 PM
Wasn't Eden Espinosa Pocahontas in Disneyland? It would be so cool to bring that show to Broadway with her as the star. Kind of sentimental or something. Also, there is no Aladdin show right now at Disney World in Orlando but I'm going to be performing down there during my internship in a couple of years and I would be extatic to be the first Jasmine!!
re: Wicked 8/3 Chicago Matinee - Sexual Orientation Unquestioned
 Aug 8 2005, 11:06:35 AM
Thanks for the great review. I'm going to see the show at the Wednesday matinee and am extremely excited. I saw the show in New York and was blown away. If anyone hear can tell me how the seats in row BB of the dress circle are I may be able to relax a bit. I'm introducing my older cousin and grandmother to the show and I hope that they will be able to enjoy it.

As for Rondi Reed and Gene Weygandt they actually have acted together before. They went to college together in my hometown

re: Favorite Act 1 Finale(s)??

Gotta say, One Day More gives me chills everytime I hear it; but I love Defying Gravity.

I don't know if this counts, I've never seen La Cage but I've heard I am what I am and I don't see how that couldn't be one of the best. Just my thought though. I've heard a lot of songs and that one is one of my favorites.
