re: For those who live in North Carolina...........

Another thing to keep in mind is that, next season, Broadway Series South isn't the only avenue to watch touring shows. The Durham Performing Arts Center will have its inaugural season of Broadway Carolina. RENT (with Adam and Anthony) is the first show on the schedule.

Hi justafan. Thanks for the review. I'm also glad to hear that your brother had a fantastic time. Did you stagedoor after the show as well?

Great to read these early reviews; I'm especially thrilled to hear about Celia and would love to read more about Aaron. Les Mis is the show that first exposed me to Broadway musicals--I'm glad it's back.

That is a lot of shows. Thanks for your reviews. I'm so glad you loved JERSEY BOYS (I read your other thread) and AVENUE Q!

if every show had sherie and norbert in it, the world would be a much, much, MUCH better place. Thats all I'm gonna say.

I wholeheartedly agree. Norbert and Sherie are Broadway magic, and L5Y is brilliant. Like all my other favorite shows, my favorite songs change every week. Overall I'd give the edge to Still Hurting and The Schmuel Song.

Right now I'm listening to See I'm Smiling. I *love* Sherie's meltdown on this song!

While I don't love it as much as L5Y,

re: Movin' Out tour info?

Anastasia, thanks for the cast list! Is there any way of knowing beforehand which cast I would be seeing? Is there a set schedule for when one cast performs, and the other doesn't, or do they just alternate? Hope my questions aren't too confusing.

I can only imagine how insanely wonderful/brilliant Norbert's last DRS is going to be! I'm sure his replacement (whom I will end up seeing) will be great, but Norbert is so unique. And freakin' incredible.

I hope that you post a review of the tour. I saw it January 2005, loved it and hope to see it again (though I'll probably see a different cast). When I saw the tour, Darren Holden was a sensational piano man, and I absolutely loved Holly Cruikshank and David Gomez as Brenda and Tony. What chemistry!

re: JLY contract extension

I spoke to one of the "Boys" this past weekend (I prefer not to say which one.) When I told him this was the second time I was seeing the show and still hadn't caught all four principals performing together, he said "that's alright, none of us is going anywhere anytime soon."

Thanks for that info. I'm glad all of the four principals are intending to stay on awhile longer. Hope you enjoyed the show as well!

I can't wait until the tour gets to my stop next February. I'm really excited about Elena and David (the picture from Say It Somehow looks amazing). Seeing a Margaret Johnson who isn't Vicki is a little jarring, though.

Thanks for the detailed review, worrell. How many times have you seen the show? I'm really glad to hear that John is feeling much better now, Christian was in a great mood, etc.!
re: Jersey Boys Tour...Chicago?
 Sep 22 2006, 09:17:42 AM
From the Jersey Boys Blog Web site:

Chicago Tribune theatre critic Chris Jones reports that Jersey Boys, the musical biography of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons that became the biggest musical hit of the 2005-06 Broadway season, will open at the LaSalle Bank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St., in October, 2007, in a co-presentation by Broadway in Chicago and TheatreDreams.

The Jersey Boys national tour kicks off in San Francisco in December and then mov

re: When will we find out if JLY is extending his contract?
 Sep 14 2006, 06:21:21 PM
He probably hasn't looked at his FAQ in awhile to change it to October 1st. Which is a little surprising considering he seems to stay on top of everything.

I agree: It certainly wouldn't be "jerky" if he left, especially considering how challenging the role is. That said, I think he's phenomenal as Frankie and would be thrilled if he stayed on, as well as the other leads.

re: Any rumors on Carols for a Cure 2006 songs?

According to Jennifer Naimo's blog, for this CD, the Jersey Boys cast recorded a rendition of O Holy Night.
re: Who have you gotten stuff back from?

I specifically said that I didn't want them to personally donate anything, but asked if they could bring the auction to the attention of those who could help. Today we got a letter from POTO (I had written to Howard McGillin) and they said they were happy to donate two tickets :)

That is so awesome! :)

About Sherie Rene Scott, I wrote her and I got a response. She and Norbert signed and personalized my L5Y CD insert. :) It took her about 3 months to get it back to me. So

re: Kaho Shimada
 Sep 5 2006, 10:50:14 PM
I like her. Not my favorite but I do enjoy her voice very much.

I believe she learned English solely in order to play Eponine on this recording.

I like her, too. Even though Lea sounds perfect, and Kaho has a very noticeable accent, I like her voice and especially her vulnerability.

Tracy Shane's Cosette sounds shrill, although from a purely sentimental standpoint, I liked having her on the recording b/c I remember seeing her in the role.
