"Perhaps trying to emulate the retail magic of Apple stores, Mickey Mouse & Co. will be transforming an old retail space in New York's Times Square into an interactive store with theme park attractions and children's exhibits.

Hoping to attract young consumers and their parents, the store will conjure up an interactive princess castle and a kids' theater offering animation and storytelling for the younger crowd. Also on display will be specific activities for kids, special events, and even celebrity guest appearances timed with major Disney film releases."

re: Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids (BCEFA) spring sales

Saw the matinee Sunday in Rochester... Anthony said their total was just over $330,000 and they wanted to break $350,000 before the end of collecting (after the evening show). For a special auction Justin brought out a pair of Angel's shoes, autographed by him and worn during the final performance on Broadway and a cast signed poster. The auction at the beginning was between 2 people and the guy in the front was sure he was going to outbid everyone (he was on the phone getting approval from dad)

Saw the RENT tour in Rochester last night. Anthony said in the announcement that they had broken the $300,000 mark and this was their last week. They auctioned off and autographed, orange folding chair from the show and a chance to go backstage to meet the cast for $1,000.

Rochester did have Wicked last May into June. It is returning less than 2 years later - coming April 13 (2010) for another 3 weeks. It set all theater records for Rochester last year, selling over 60,000 tickets and selling out 22 of the 24 shows. It is no surprise that they would want it again. I sell group tickets and I have already had customers that went previously request tickets for next year.

Saw In The Heights last Saturday matinee with a group of students and only about half of the cast came out in the 40 minutes we waited, very few leads came out. Everyone that came out was very friendly and signed.

When I saw the shows, I had similar thoughts. I believe Jersey Boys (which I saw in Rochester last night) and In The Heights are the only two real highlights.

I prefaced my message with "Not knowing much about her stopping the show or the situation of the photographer the day before..." (and I could care less).

I did not indicate in any statement of mine that it was the NY Magazine photographer. I simply stated that these photos could have been taken over a series of days even though the title says something different.

logan0215 - not all of the photos have champagne and tears, many could have been taken at a differennt time. I am just saying the photographer can not be in two places at once. We know the DVD being sold as "RENT - The Final Performance" was not all filmed at the final show.

Not knowing much about her stopping the show or the situation of the photographer the day before... It does appear that these pictures could have been taken on more than one night or at multiple performances. This is often the case with video and photo shoots. It is a chronical of "a day" but it seems very unlikely they would let the photographer go from backstage and out into the audience at the same show. I would think this would be disruptive to the audience. He has some resting shots (backst

I saw the matinee today in Rochester and the sound was horrible. I had a group of 25 people with me and many complained. It was not technical problems, it was just the volume level of the mics. There were points where the mics seemed non-existent! I was glad to have knowledge of the show because dialog was very difficult to hear. We were only 20 rows back from the stage and it seemed that the entire show volume could be increased quite a bit. I have never experienced this problem with any other

The Auditorium Theater capacity is 2400 seats. Having been to both Shea's and the Aud for many shows, the Aud is my preference. As mentioned the sound at Shea's is often a problem and I have never really experienced this at the Aud. Also, it is quite a bit smaller (almost 800 seats). Those last rows at Shea's are really far away!

On another note: is the tour selling any merchandise for Broadway Cares? Autographed windowcards, etc?
