re: Nude scene added to THE ODD COUP-LE Aug 28

I've seen a recording of the Tony Awards where Mr Lane appeared - briefly - in his apron and heels (WOW!). Perhaps he could revive the look by taking the Oscar Madison character in a radical new direction?

Yep, I was ready and waiting for the sale to start and couldn't find anything at all for my dates. Also tried to find just a single ticket for Feb/March next year and was offered (max price) seats right at the ends of the orchestra and front/mid mezzanine rows. Hard to believe that pretty much everything hasn't already been up for grabs for at least a month - the presale system is pants. Anyway, hope others out there have more luck! :)

Always knew I was bad with numbers but that's a corker! Yes, of course $7 million. Though millions/billions are to my personal finances what our local cluster of galaxies are to a small pebble on a beach in Brighton, so they might as well be interchangeable. For example, I actually applied for a rotten stinking American Express card, just to get tickets. They wouldn't have me!!! :o( But relieved to hear about the seats, thank you!

I saw Nathan Lane twice (including his second-to-last performance...) during his brief stint in the West End and vowed to do whatever it took to see him in whatever he did next, wherever it might be. November is the best time for a NY holiday for me and, though it may seem unnecessarily pessimistic, I'm keen to catch him early and would prefer not to wait until, er, after Christmas...! (Just in case!) When the AmEx presale sold $7 billion's worth, I started freaking out, went

These pictures are fantastic! The site also offers several photos of Mr Lane looking rather bashful at the recent Tony Awards (once his hair has grown back a wee bit, it's going to look super-cool)

re: Brooks Atkinson seating question Jun 7

Thanks very much, that was really helpful. I decided to go ahead and buy some (ridiculously priced) Odd Couple tickets for great seats, rather than hold out on the off-chance of something decent turning up at face-value in July. Of course, NOW I'll have to get there by swimming the Atlantic because I can no longer afford the flight, but I'll worry about that nearer the time.... :o

Brooks Atkinson seating question Jun 7
2005, 01:47:46 PM
Hi, I hope somebody can answer this query! Prices for right and left mezzanine seats, even towards the front in rows B and C, are noticeably cheaper. But it isn't clear from the seating chart WHY they're cheaper - you don't appear to be that much further away from the stage than if you're sat in the centre (unless it's a very stylised seating chart). In fact, they're cheaper than row G centre, which I'd have down as a worse view because it's further from the stage. Is

Thanks junglered - I found the right one. Makes a lot more sense! I was looking at Playbill's chart....

How come seats for mezzanine row K are available when, according to the seating chart, there isn't a row K in that section?

re: What's with Nathan Lane's buzz cut? Jun 6
2005, 01:38:23 PM
OMG, normally I just lurk here but... really?? Has he really shaved his gorgeous locks off?? Is there a tufty bit at the top? Googling 'buzzcut' turned up this gem from http://www.swarthmore.edu/Humanities/tkitao1/buzzcut.html 'When a man you've known for some time who was sporting luxuriant hair suddenly appears before you all buzzed to zero, it is shocking, almost horrifying. It leaves you speechless. It leaves me speechless. I am hard put to decide whether or not to comment on it, and what exactly I should say if I decided to say something. "Oh, dear, that's a drastic haircut you got!"' Well, I love his hair in 'The Birdcage', that shorter style really suits him. So it can't be THAT bad.
