Broadway “opera house”

This was my whole idea. Given the fact that Sunset Blvd didn’t recoup, I thought, what if the production goes on in a Broadway rep house, and the producers license it out. This would help producers keep making money on it. Any show that still has gas could do it, and people can still enjoy these productions with new actors in the roles.

It would be nice to see Bart Sher’s South Pacific, The King and I, and My Fair Lady playing in rep. It would probably make bank during the holidays just like Nutcracker at the ballet or The Magic Flute at the opera

I doubt this new tour comes to New York while the Diane Paulus production is still running.
Is this tour similar to the Hal Prince production? Do they still have the bridge and boat? The costumes are certainly not nearly as ornate.

I know plenty of people who enjoyed Smash, myself included!! I went in completely blind so I wasn't expecting some bitch fight that apparently people wanted. The beginning of the show was dull, but once Susan Proctor came in and everything started going to $hit, it really took off for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
