 Mar 9 2011, 12:52:47 AM
I'm really surprised that no one has said Phylicia Rashad. She'd be perfection!

"Thank God Broadway never borrows ideas from pop-culture!!! "

I'm sorry to say it but pop-culture has a huge affect on broadway. For example, Grease and Legally Blonde doing reality shows to find their stars and although shows such as In the Heights and Spring Awakening are good, the music in the show is influenced by music you would here on the radio right now. So, broadway borrows a lot of ideas from pop-culture and by the way it's looking...it won't stop.

5. Manoel Felciano- Sweeney Todd

Wicked has a lot of them.
re: 'Heather Headley, you're needed on the stage.'

Heather Headley is by far my favorite broadway performer. As much as I would love to see her as Elphaba, it would never happen and I think she is too tall to play Celie. I just hope and pray for the right show to come along for her.

He died doing what he loved doing. That is the best way to go. What we do for our art...

Prayers go out to his friends and family.

West Side Story movie re-make
 Nov 8 2007, 03:05:43 PM
So I was watching West Side Story the other day and I thought to myself that I would love to see this movie re-done w/ the original choreography of course. I want to know who would you cast in the roles if they did it. I think if Rosie Perez were 5-10 years younger, she would kill as Anita.

re: Baritone Actors
 Oct 20 2007, 10:16:02 PM
Brian Stokes Mitchell hands down!!!

I also love Norm Lewis and George Hearn.

I'm not sure if you would consider Raul Esparza a baritone but he is always playing roles for baritones but he can belt pretty high. So I'll consider him a baritone with a tenor belt.

Hilarious Comments...

This is from Spring Awakening a while back...

An old couple was sitting behind me reading their playbill and I hear..."Look at the cast they are such babies. Oh this must be a nice wholesome teen show. What are all those people doing sitting on stage? Oh, they are all in the show dear."

The couple didn't come back after intermission.

re: What show has moved you the most, and why?

Spring Awakening. I remmber gripping onto my friend next to me at a lot of the points of the show. It was like watching my life right in front of my eyes. It's a show that anyone can see if they are into theatre or not. It is very moving and very thought provoking.
