I enjoyed doing the latest OffBook podcast with the up-and-coming NYC actor who talks about everything from her many collaborations with David Ives to what it was like understudying Nina Arianda in both "Born Yesterday" and "Venus in Fur."
I had such a great time recording a new OffBook podcast with "Follies of God" author James Grissom. He talks about his relationship with Tennessee Williams and interviewing the playwright's favorite actresses including Maureen Stapleton, Kim Stanley and Jessica Tandy. Grissom also has a book in the works based on his conversations with Marlon Brando.
It was so interesting talking with Howard Sherman about his valiant New School-endorsed fight against censorship of stage shows in high schools all over the country. In this OffBook podcast he also talks about a long career in theater that has included stints at Goodspeed, Hartford Stage and the American Theatre Wing http://www.wildroot.org/.
I had fun doing a new "Off Book" podcast with Annette Meyers who worked by Harold Prince's side as his personal assistant during the "Company"/"Follies" era. She was in the Broadway trenches for 16 years - from "A Family Affair" through "Pacific Overtures." The sound is a little wonky because the session was recorded at the West Bank Café but I think it's worth a listen.
