It looked like they were filming something in Cunningham Park today on Union Tnpk and 199th Street. We saw big wind fans and they were erecting older style street lights. Same thing?

How old where you when you saw Rent for the first time?
12

What was your reaction of the show the first time you saw it?
I liked itm but it wasn't until I went home and listened to the music again that I fell in love. I saw it another 6 times over 8 years.

Did seeing Rent get you intrested in seeing La Boheme?
(If Yes, what did you think?)
It did get me interested in La Boheme. I finally saw in a year ago, 7 years after I'd seen RENT. It was fun to notice s

Put your iPod on shuffle and answer the questions in order with the song title, then hit next for the following question.

I eat there literally every time I go to the city. It's so much fun and great if you're in a rush. I've gotten food in under ten minutes there. The burgers are great and I like the chicken parm, even though its chicken fingers and not one big piece of chicken. Still delicious!!

My roommates and I all said Obama should have played it during his acceptance speech. There was one part where he said something like We've come so far but..." and we all broke out into song.

When I was in Grease! back in high school I was Marty so the script called for me to make out with Vince Fontaine. Well, he smelled like parts of him had died and was a really creepy guy overall. We never even bothered to rehearse the kiss because I told my director he's a hude creeper and smelly and that's it. The first night of the show was normal. The second night, when the kiss is called for, he grabbed me and licked my neck out of nowhere. One of the teachers looked very young so we used hi

zimmy71888 I agree with you about Mimi. I hated her. She made me miserable. I wanted to slap her.

Bat Boy Audition Help
 Oct 4 2008, 12:52:42 AM
Hi everyone. I have an audition Monday (I just found out last minute) for Bat Boy and I need a 16 bars of a contemporary Broadway song. I've been told I'm a soprano but I sing alto parts much, much better. I can do some mezzo stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions? At the moment I'm leaning towards the first verse of Streetsinger from Brooklyn or Ireland from Legally Blonde. I don't particularly think either are good audition pieces.

Also, as a heads up, RENT is a no-no. It's at Adelp

I tried Mimi when I was 15 or 16. I used my own clothing to make a copy of hers, down to the belt used to hold her mic pack. I carried around a candle and stuffed some cash in my bra. Nobody understood when when I said Mimi from RENT they still didn't get it. Eventually I ditched the candle and just said I was a stripper.

Freshman year in college I went as Elphaba, just slutty. My dress was so short I had to paint my behind green, too. Three people got Elphaba and not just the plain ol

From what I've heard from those I know involved in the show, in regards to Mimi, she was directed to act sexy and seductive and just couldn't grasp that.

oohshizz146, the ensemble was awesome!!

shabadoo, the videos were really good, for the most part. What you own was a video of an orgy just shot from very close. Will I? was a shot of all of the Life Support Membners walking and interacting with each other and a close up on their faces. It ends on a pan out of Roger's fac

I just got back from today's matinee. I also saw last night's show and I was really impressed! I wasn't expecting anyone to be able to pull this off, but lo and behold, Adelphi did!

Their interpretation of the play was refreshing and innovative. (Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD) Mark's camera is a live feed that it projected across the stage and on the walls. Other projections during Contact (phenomenal) and What You Own (a little cheesy for my taste) were used, as well.

Ushers In Between Shows
 Sep 26 2008, 12:39:22 AM
When a show closes, what happens to the ushers for that theater until something new comes in? Do they get paid still? Are they sent to other shows? I was wondering because I was at the Palace last night and only one usher knew the show was closing the others didn't know until then and they didn't seem too concerned.

Marius has made my ears bleed. As for the Out Tonight, there was nothing redeeming at all. The singer was dreadful, as was her outfit. The choreography was terrible and the dancers were out of sync.

But Marius takes the cake. I'm listening to his Empty Chairs as I type. I want to stop it but I can't. I do, however, wanna smack that awful beret off his head and stuff it in his mouth. You all nkow the director thought the berets were probably the best idea ever! No...

I go to Adelphi and last night eavesdropped on a rehearsal. Sounds good. I think this is the best show to put on in our new performing arts building. Everyone come see it!!!!
Hilarious Comments...

I was going to say something but the lights were flashing for intermission to be over so I didn't want to start it and risk them talking to me through Seasons of Love. Anyone who wears Crocs and socks to a theater clearly has no sense of theater etiquette.
