"Shma" kills me. I was going to list it, but wasn't sure if it was appropriate for this thread, considering that it's usually a capella
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

Haha I saw the post and I was like "I bet 'Lolita, My Love' isn't there, and Carrie prolly isn't either".... and then I saw that the OP is one smart cookie :). And I agree with SITPWG as well... The overture of Sweeney gives me chills. Marie Christine is definitely tense and beautiful. "Losing My Mind" from Follies; that gets me. and "Starfish" from La Strada.

^^^Agreed. Unusual Way always give me that eerie feeling. Esp. in Kidman's version when she sings the last low note in the song. And "Another Winter..." just sends me into convulsing sobs when I hear it.

As much as I love "You Don't Know," I'm not sure I would consider it to be "haunting."
To add a new one to the mix, I would say South Pacific's "This Nearly Was Mine." I didn't like it much before seeing the current revival. Paulo's performance of it, however, was chilling, and I'm now a fan.
"And really, philly03, Finding Wonderland? I hate that song. Just sayin'. :P"
If you see it in person you'd probably think differently! I know a lot of people hate on that one, but it's caught my ear from the start. The ending in the show ends the note but the music continues and what happens on stage..chills!
