The same thing could be said about Friends. They’re both still beloved properties. Both Sex and the City movies were box office successes, even though those were 10-12 years ago as well. I think it makes total sense for this production to angle the show as a mix of those two properties.

Any reason I should be worried about missing Patti if I book a Thursday night in late April?

I'm planning on seeing this to get the memories of the last Broadway revival out of my head. It was another overrated John Doyle actor-musician production and many of the roles were miscast.

"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"

They sound amazing! I think even better than the London boyfriends.

John Arthur Greene has joined the cast, which makes sense as he’s a very obvious cover for Andy.

As far as I know, Patti didn't miss any performances in London. She did miss a few in War Paint, but very rarely. She has a solid attendance record and only misses if she really has to - I don't think you should feel 'worried' the same way you might be of some performers who have a reputation, but there is always a small chance.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I hope they announce the non-principal cast soon. They seem to have cast some really interesting choices.

Anisha Nagarajan posted a photo in her IG Story of "Who's Who" in Company. And she will be Patti's understudy.

Wow, indeed. She can sing, but they must have a lot of faith in Patti's attendance if theyre hiring one understudy 35 years her junior...

Wow thank you!! This cast seems larger than London’s.
I feel like they may still hire a proper age Joanne standby. I’d be very surprised if there’s only one cover, and it’s a 36 year old.

Also, I am very pleased on how they put together a completely diverse ensemble/non-principal cast. There were some diversity concerns in the beginning, but they’ve put together an awesome group.

Pretty excited to see this on Broadway! Having seen it in London, worry that Patty was a snore-through-bored-performance effort. I hope Lady Lupone wakes up and appears to care in the role.

Gorgeous reimagining by Elliott.

Did anyone else find Lupone a snore times two in London?
