Well, LITP was filmed live, so their editing was probably (just going on a whim here) to do because whoever was editing couldn't decide and make choices as to what should be on screen. Also, Company was filmed over the span of two performances so there was (just assuming again) more footage to work with.
This was filmed so gorgeously... then you have the awkward shot of his feet.
