Today at the James Earl Jones  box office only tickets are being sold for $19.85. The deal is for previews only and all seats are located in the second balcony. The announcement said tickets were $19.85 but location of tickets was not mentioned. Those in line were somewhat disappointed by the location but grateful for any special discount being offered today only. Huey Lewis was at the box office opening.

Doesn't look like the sale made much of an impact on any date. I have my eyes on a specific date that I want but have been waiting for a discount code to become available since it's not selling at all.

I guess AKA paying all those influencers to promote their shows (including this ticket sale) isn't working out so well so far... shocking

A friend of mine is working on this new musical - say's it is fine. If you like 'A Beautiful Noise' - you will like this show too.

Everything you expect it to be - it is! Which probably isn't a bad thing for a show like this.

It's not aiming to win awards but rather entertain.

It may not be aiming to win awards, but it IS aiming to sell large volumes of tickets at a sustainable rate.

Would love to know what their plan is for ticket sales in this tough climate, under the assumption that it gets poor critical reviews and limited to no awards attention.

Beautiful Noise is a bio musical, though. This is an original story using Lewis’ music… that’s a bit of a harder sell.

If they don’t care about awards then why open in the thick of awards season in a sea of other new shows that’re fighting for an audience? Why not wait a couple months until the thick of tourist season and go for those dollars?

Worked well for Mamma Mia.

It looked like there was a rush toward the end. I got on line at 5:40 and got my tickets (opening night balcony) at 5:55 and there were still many people behind me.

I bought two because, let’s be honest, why suffer with someone next to me.

I simply wait for most shows to announce their lottery policy. Can’t get much cheaper than that most of the time (though today seemed to be an exception), and I never buy my tickets far in advance anymore, which is why I didn’t go to today’s event.

Oh look, a bibu!

But...if you don't mind me asking...how often do you get "bad" seats from the lotteries?

I haven’t gotten a lot of “bad” seats, but if a two-act show is poorly sold, I can just sneak over to a better, vacant seat at intermission.

I can’t complain about these lotteries, given the prices.

Oh look, a bibu!

I'm honestly surprised there isn't a discount code yet.
