Has anyone seen this Donmar cast recording yet? I was kind of hoping it might be out in time for the holidays.

And what about iTunes???

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I checked nearly every site I could think of, and I even e-mailed the Donmar...they have yet to reply.

I pre-ordered it several weeks ago from dresscircle.co.uk - it is set to be released on December 10th, per the site, as well as Lara Pulver's website.

Does anyone think that it will be on iTunes tomorrow?

I can't wait for my CD - i'm going to buy "This Is Not Over Yet" and "All The Wasted Time" to tide me over...

I ran to Dress Circle today and picked up a copy. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet (though I know it shall be fabulous after seeing the production twice) but the packaging looks great. I ran by the Donmar and they aren't selling it themselves (something which the box office guy thought to be rather stupid) and said it might take a couple more days for it to get up onto iTunes.

I'm so glad I could get it before I left the UK.

Lucky! I've ordered from DressCircle before and it comes to the US fairly quickly!

I just need to know if "you're order has been processed and is ready to be shipped" means that it's been shipped or not.

I picked up my copy from Dress Circle today. The two music discs include a hell of a lot of dialogue from the show

The bonus DVD is a 20 minute interview session with Alfred Uhry, Jason Robert Brown, Donmar's Artistic Director Michael Grandage and Director and Choreograher Ron Ashford. The most interesting part though is from Designer Chrisopher Oram who takes you round some of his favourite parts of the set including the stunning mural.

I as told told it would also be available through amazon.co.uk, but there is nothing for it yet.

Footlight.com says they will have it in stock on 12/11. Also note that the bonus DVD is in the PAL format and won't play on most U.S. players.

I can play Pal on our PC. Too bad, I prefer to use the DVD player. Is this planned to come to the US? It looks great from the pictures. Thanks for the links.

fyi: most PAL DVDs will play in your DVD Rom so you shouldn't have a problem playing it on your home PC if you have a DVDRom attached.

I ordered mine from the label directly, and they told me it shipped last night. Not sure how long it will take it to get to the US, though.

I used to have one of those $30 Wal*Mart DVD players that actually could play PAL stuff... but then it broke. So sad.

Listening to it now and its bringing back all the fine memories of the production that I had the joy of seeing a few times.

The new song "Hammer of Justice" is proving a lot more memorable now that I can listen over again and easily replaces "People of Atlanta" as a charged motif to introduce the Trial and big up the Watson plotline.

Also just listening to the underscored dialogue leading into "All the Wasted Tim" is brutal. A very complete recording that may well replace the original on my ipod.
