I stumbled upon this video on YouTube.
Kinda sobering, and realistic, because my passport is implanted with an electronic chip. I got it about 2 months ago.
What do we think about this, honestly?
I'm not talking about 9/11 conspiracy theories and that junk.
I'm talking about, of course media cover-ups and control of the general population.
can this "One world Gov't" actually come to fruition, and sooner than we think?

It worries me that Lou Dobbs is the brave reporter who dares to face such an issue!
or whoever they put it.
Lou Dobbs raises my eyebrow..
BUT...
I'm convinced that this is not so outlandish a scenario.
Awareness about what might happen is critical right now.
Pass this video on your friends and family.
God Bless.
This sometimes helps.

BFB, I agree with what she says.
Except I'd rather go out and protest war for 20 minutes than pray for it.
The North American Union is promoted by a curious combination of Republicans and Democrats and detested by an even more curious combination of Democrats and Republicans.
It stinks, however you approach it.

I hear you, Namaste.
Action AND Prayer, for me. I try to cover all bases.

Why wouldn't it happen?
You mean if we win that "war on terror"?
This is a very paranoid piece of propoganda that fails on a number of levels.
I don't doubt that there are elements in society that would want to see world government, and in theory that could be a very good thing if it was done with integrity and a sound understanding of human nature.
The fears propogated here completely ignore both the good and bad aspects of human nature, the lessons of world history and the unpredictables that have always happened (also known as Acts of God) throughout history.
It's almost impossible to address in a post this size just how intellectually feeble that video is.

Spoken like a true socialist, Scripps.
Perhaps I'm not a socialist but an idealist.
But then how can I be an idealist when I understand human nature?
Perhaps I'm not an idealist but an intellectual.
But then...
you catch my drift?

Whatever you are, your little ass will be marching in line with the rest of us when it all hits the fan!
Nationalism and religion are the two greatest killers of mankind
I was actually speaking with someone the other day about the similarities between 1984 and the US foreign policy of late. Afghanistan was the #1 enemy until we toppled the Taliban. Then Iraq became the #1 enemy and we've been in there for 5 years, still far from in control of the situation and already the administration wants to move onto the new #1 enemy, Iran.
It's like the scene where they switch from a war with Eurasia to war with Eastasia- in the middle of a speech- and the Party instantly convinces the people to accept this new mindset, and they convince themselves Eastasia had been the enemy all along.
The number one threat to America isn't Iran, it's the American people that will blindly support the government's quest towards perpetual war.

Look back further in history. There's always been a #1 enemy, that's nothing new.
The number one threat to America is the mindset that government has the solutions to our problems.
I'm well aware of that. But the fact that Bush seamlessly switched from Iraq to Iran with no one questioning him was what reminded me of that scene in 1984. I'm surprised he hasn't blamed Emmanuel Goldstein for the anti-Iraq posters.

My little ass will have been incinerated in a crematorium long before world government happens and so will most of the other little asses posting on this board.
"The number one threat to America is the mindset that government has the solutions to our problems."
As a Brit, I would generalise this and say that a major self-delusion of any individual is the mindset that any politician or form of government has the solution to our problems.
I do think there are far more immediate threats than a 1984-type of world government, such as global warming (whether you believe its causes are man-made or otherwise) and viruses that can resist antibiotics.
Well, I just cut open my passport and there is no chip in it.
*Never Mind* I got it in 2000...
