In Liz Smith column today, it was reported Mr & Mrs Streisand were driving when she pulled up to a local gas station. She remarked the price per gallon was five cents higher than it was in the AM. I guess Babs drives around for the cheapest price. In any event, the attendant said unfortunately he had no control over it but could he have an autograph. Babs initimated she would have when the price was lower in the morning but since the gas prices went up so did her price for her John Hancock. I will say again, she is a great signing talent. The greatness ends there

Maybe she pumps her own gas. What possesses people who have money up the wazoo to be so cheap. Guess she will try & disprove the old adage " You can't take it with you" . She will try her darndest

How can the price go up in a couple of hours, unless she was at a different gas station than she had been in the morning?

I don't think it's being cheap, I think it's being aware of being ripped off. I would have said the exact same thing. And by the way, just because you're rich doesn't mean you can just blow money off... then you won't be so rich anymore, will you?
Oh and who the h#%^ believes what Liz Smith says?

And while we're on the subject.. It's Barbra's Birthday tomorrow. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I sat next to Barbra, James and Alan and Marilyn Bergman at the Taper theater here in Los Angeles for Cy Colemans new show "Like Jazz". The theater is in the semi round.. So it was hard watching the show.. She seemed nice enough . Updated On: 4/24/04 at 02:32 PM

2. I guess our recent truce is over & the sarcasm directed at me will start again. You can not get me politically ( as I am out of that arena ) so it will be general alledged snappy comments. If that floats your boat, be my guest. I am going to bed now
