Has anyone else seen this great film? I saw it on Hallmark Channel for the first time last night and I thought it was really great. The performances were so good, especially by a very young Reese Witherspoon (her third film). Sure since it was Disney it was all a bit predictable, but they did a great job at adding in very tense and nerve-wracking moments. I'm disappointed that you never hear anything about this film. Simple, yet good.
Any thoughts?

Yes, that's the one. But she has lived there all her life, and the boy comes to visit with her father. (Sorry, I'm a stickler for details.

Right, I thought it was something like that.
I watched that movie as a kid because I had to audition for a part in a movie that eventually went to Reese (Jack the Bear), so I followed her career back then.
It was ok, I didn't like the shooting parts and showing blood, but the rest was good.

Posted: 4/17/06 at 7:43pmI agree, sweetestsiren. It kinda reminded me of Sahara (funny, since I didn't see Sahara). I thought Sarel Bok did a great job as Xhabbo, especially since he'd done nothing before and has done nothing since. I spent quite a while trying to click my tongue like he did. I still can't do it, ha.

Yeah, I really do enjoy it. And it struck me as having gorgeous cinematography and extaordinarily good acting for a kids movie produced by Disney.

*SPOLIERS*
Once again, I agree. The aerial shots were very well done. And some of the reveal shots over the dunes, especially when they show that they collapsed right before Carlstown. And some moments, the only thing that kept me from getting really nervous and tense was knowing it was a Disney movie. Reese was my favorite, you can tell she had so much talent even back then.

This movie is on the Hallmark Channel tonight, started at 9.
I'm watching just because of this thread.
