On the "big screen,"

Ironman, Indiana Jones, Get Smart, The Incredible Hulk, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Dark Knight, Tropic Thunder, Mamma Mia!, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

On DVD/airplane/cruise ship, some of which I'd seen before:

Made of Honor, Leatherheads, The Counterfeiters, The Bank Job, Waitress, Harold and Kumar 2, Shine A Light, Funny Games (American), The Bucket List, In Bruges, Persepolis, Un Chien Andalou, The Queen, The Devil Wears Prada.

My favorite big screen movie of the summer? Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Glad I didn't pay for it, but enjoyed it on an airplane: Made of Honor.

Best movies: The Counterfeiters, The Bank Job, In Bruges, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Isn't this the sort of thing you share with you classmates on the 1st day of school, in your essay of "What I did on my Summer Vacation"?

Seems like you have lots of disposable income. How about a list of charities you've supported?

"Seems like you have lots of disposable income. How about a list of charities you've supported?"

Oh, give me a break! I'll admit that movie prices have been what some might feel 'excessive', but to make the leap into 'you bought a few movie tickets, so you must have a lot of disposable income' is pretty ridiculous!

Even at current prices, the list given only indicates a small percentage - over an entire summer (the timeframe mentioned) - of a slightly more than livable wage.

You are obviously responding from a place of dissatisfaction with your OWN living situation, which is no one's issue but your own.

And for the record, what anyone decides to do with ANY of their money is no one's concern but their own.

Maybe he was referring to all the movies he saw on planes and cruise ships?

And for the record, what anyone decides to do with ANY of their money is no one's concern but their own.

Until they start a thread about it. Then it becomes a grist for the mill.

Just sayin'!

Q, I wasn't aware the two of you were lovers. Your conclusions defy any sort of logic, and indicate that YOU are the one dealing with some sort of dissatisfaction. My conclusion was based on his own words. Regardless, I didn't start a thread asking Yankeefan what he did with his money, He started a thread proclaiming all the movies he saw, including the venues. Anyone reading his post would assume that someone who can often go to movie theaters and on cruises and airplanes, has a lot of disposable income. He said what he did with his money, in a thread on a public message board. It stopped being a private thing. I feel strongly that people should give to charities and help others out. Since he opened the door, I see nothing wrong in asking him which charities he supported. Obviously, he's not required to answer. But, your reaction to my question is rather extreme, imo.
