How hard is it to get in?

AMDA accepts a larger number of students than most other MT programs (making the statistics more in your favor to get in), and many audition for it considering it a safety.

If you're considering auditioning, there are a few threads on AMDA if you want to read more about experiences people have had there. Remember that everything people will say (BOTH good and bad) about any school is opinion and you need to make your own decision about it -- a message board won't tell you whether or not it is right for you.

Best of luck!

I've heard/read that it isn't incredibly difficult to get into AMDA but that you won't come out with a lot of talent/experience if you aren't willing to work hard to get to that point. I'm sure that's true with any school...but a few of my friends have just been accepted into AMDA...and they're fairly talented. I haven't met anybody who's absolutely awful who has gotten in. I think they're also looking for "raw talent," though, which they can shape into some sort of miracle performer or something.

Wow, my post seems incredibly ambiguous.

Edit: try reading through this thread:
