AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2
Posted: 1/13/09 at 9:11amI'll watch if they'll be focusing on the talent that advances, rather than the morons who are trying for their 15 minutes.

madbrian, I think they are going to focus on the more talented singers that audition.
And there is a former Annie and a former Fiyero in the competion, right?

Hmmm...good luck with that!

I'll definitely watch, though I have to say that last season my interest waned. I missed lots of episodes and didn't even watch the finale.
Not making a "statement" here; it just didn't hold my interest, somehow.
But I always start with a certain amount of excitement.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#7
Posted: 1/13/09 at 10:47amI usually don't start watching until the top 10 or so. I hate the auditions.

There was an article somewhere that there will be less concentration on the flakes who audition just to get their 15 minutes of TV time.
I'm not going to watch this year. Last year was it for me. I'm just not interested anymore.

Posted: 1/13/09 at 11:04amAre you kidding? OF COURSE I'm going to watch! Last season produced the most exciting new popstar in a generation, David Archuleta!

Posted: 1/13/09 at 11:05am^^Calvin has it right. It's the only way to watch this, The Bachelor and the Fatties...otherwise it's an hour of commercials and recapping what you just saw before the commercial.

Posted: 1/13/09 at 11:09amLOL!!!! never mind. I just figured it out. I thought you were calling it The Bachelor and the Fatties. HA!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#14
Posted: 1/13/09 at 11:27amThe DVR is definitely the way to go! You can listen to a few seconds, then fast forward to Simon's comments. It is a rare occasion to actually listen to one of the contestants full songs. Oh and those dreadful group numbers; you would think that someone entering a singing contest would know how to harmonize.

Yes...there is no reason to even hear Paula and Randy's commments. They mean nothing.
We call "The Biggest Loser" the fatties. There is SO MUCH product placement crap to edit out of that show. They are also the worst about recapping after every commercial break.

American Idol IS my show! I never miss it. Although many would disagree with me, last season was my absolute FAVORITE. I LOVED little Archuleta-what a precious gem! I hope there are some worthy contestants this year. I heard that they are not going to show as many auditions as they usually do. THANK GOD for that. I like to get right down to the Top 24.
I don't care how big of a dork I am, I can't wait for tonight!

Posted: 1/13/09 at 12:27pmTalk about a show that's "jumped the shark". It happened a few seasons ago. The number 1 thing wrong with the show is the amount of attention given the banal judges. The way to fix that is not by adding another judge. I won't be watching.

I thought that was David Archuleta?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#20
Posted: 1/13/09 at 12:55pmThere is an Osmond on this year. And remember Jason Castro? His brother is on this year.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#21
Posted: 1/13/09 at 1:01pmI'm watching it tonight at one of the Castro bars. I'll try and stay sober.

I'll be watching.......
I actually liked last season pretty well. To me, Season's 6 and 3 were the worst.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#23
Posted: 1/13/09 at 2:00pmI'll probably end up watching. Not that I really want to, but American Idol is like a trainwreck ... you can't pull yourself away and just want to watch.

Posted: 1/13/09 at 2:00pmThe Bachelor was how long yesterday? 2 hours? I got through it in less than half that time. Thank you, DVR!! I'll do the same thing with Idol tonight.
