Posted: 1/14/09 at 9:44pmTomorrow I'll deny that I said this, but Jason Castro's brother is ridiculously cute.

I missed him, but I'm sure I'll love him. I found Jason to be ridiculously cute and sexy.
But how did that last guy get through????
re: AMERICAN IDOL#102
Posted: 1/14/09 at 9:49pmI was wondering the same thing - he was terrible. Cannon fodder?

Def- it runs in the family apparantly
no seriously, the Castro family is SUPER adorable and talented. I know everyone likes to joke about Jason being a stoner, but he's REALLY legitimately great when he's in his element. And his brother has an equally lovely voice.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#104
Posted: 1/14/09 at 10:09pmMy two favorites tonight were Michael Castro, and the middle school band teacher guy. What was his name?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#105
Posted: 1/14/09 at 10:33pmYeah I noticed Von Smith. I thought he looked familiar in the preview. I agree, his audition wasn't the greatest, especially the beginning. I was expecting them to say no and I was going to be like, "Man if they only saw his you tube stuff." I'm glad he made it though. I would like to hear more from him.

Danny
Asa
Michael
The Janis Joplin Girl
That's it.
Reg - I thought the same thing. Michael's face reminds me so much of a guy I had a ridiculous crush on many years ago.

Von was mostly shouting. I think he has a good voice but he needs to calm it down he is not Idina! ya it's great he can scream them notes that high but i'd kinda like to hear him sing normal for a change or at least take it back a couple notches at the begaining.

Posted: 1/14/09 at 10:40pmoops-I don't think Michael Castro is cute.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#109
Posted: 1/14/09 at 10:49pmI Loved how Michael Castro said his brother was more womanly then him when he seemed to be alot more feminine then Jason..lol
re: AMERICAN IDOL#110
Posted: 1/14/09 at 10:58pmHe actually said "more girly", then explained that Jason is more emotional than he is.

Right before they played "You Gotta Have A Gimmick", I was talking to my folks about Gypsy (probably in reference to how you'd never hear someone sing a song from that show on American Idol, while something from tick, tick, BOOM could work because it's more pop-based...or something along those lines). Anyway, no one has really "wowed" me per se, but I did like the very last girl that came on, the music director who lost his wife, and the second girl who came in wearing the black shirt.
That Von kid reminded me of one of my friends, and I felt he shouted a tad too much. Not to say he wasn't good - there was definite talent to be heard (I had no idea that he had a video floating around YouTube, though).
ETA: Forgot to mention banana guy! He was hysterical. As was Simon's "it was like a cat falling off the Empire State Building" comment.

I thought Michael Castro had a good voice, but I don't think he's nearly as cute as Jason. I mean Jason has those gorgeous blue eyes.
Von reminded me of Ryan in HSM. And considering Simon is always telling contestants they are "too theatrical", I'm not sure how long he'll last. I guess it depends on how well he can adapt to the themes they give them.
I loved that they played Daughtry when that Matt guy was leaving.....Idol loves them some Daughtry!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#115
Posted: 1/15/09 at 10:13amI find myself bored and doing other things during AI this season.I'm looking forward to Hollywood week. That's when you see what they are made of.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#116
Posted: 1/15/09 at 5:46pmI liked the Robert Downey look-a-like who's wife got killed. Nice voice.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#117
Posted: 1/15/09 at 9:52pmThat was Danny Gokey. I really enjoyed his voice. I also liked Asa, Jessica Paige Verny (the girl that sang Joplin), and matt Briesky, and Michael Sarver and Cody sheldon. Thats all so far and definetly some better than others.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#118
Posted: 1/16/09 at 3:04amWhat song did the closet guy sing? It sounded very familiar and actually a song that I might try to sing :) at a karaoke bar.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#119
Posted: 1/20/09 at 8:07pmOK, the vagina on top of Simon's head is more pronounced than ever tonight.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#120
Posted: 1/20/09 at 8:49pmWow, Adam Lambert from LA Wicked just got through!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#121
Posted: 1/20/09 at 8:50pmThat Wicked guy will be a total teenage heartthrob this season.

Did anyone else notice that the last contestant sang Jerome Kerns "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes?"
That made my day.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#123
Posted: 1/21/09 at 12:08amThe Wicked guy was good, though I thought his hair was rather unfortunate. I also liked Kai.

Posted: 1/21/09 at 6:24amThey'll take care of the hair when he gets his Idol makeover.
