Please join elsgr8, Luscious, myself and the entire ad-hoc Brokeback Mountain Queens Contingent as we count the days til the April 4 release of the egregiously and criminally overlooked BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR, Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana's E. Annie Proulx's Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain.
Most of us will find our faces, like Luscious's, awash with tears of joy and pride as we finally become the proud owners of perhaps the most important movie to ever be filmed. Extras are expected to include interviews with all the necessary people, including what's sure to be a particularly deathless one by Diana Ossana bin Lovely, and Larry McMurty, (He wore JEANS!) along with discussions about the rigorous training endured by the criminally Academy-neglected Heath Gyllenhaal and Jake Ledger.
It's important for gay rights that we all pre-order as many copies as our budgets will allow, but be sure to leave some money aside to buy store copies on the day of release.
Let's all work together to make Digital Video Disc Brokeback's most successful format YET!

My impeccable sources, Cheez, tell me this is to be a $29.95 release, owing to the prestige of this incredible, unsurpassable motion picture.
Please check with your places of employment to see if they will match Kringas's incredibly generous pledges. Call HR as soon as you can!

Thanks for the helpful link, Cheez.
How bittersweet to see "3 Academy Awards" across the box. When we all know what the real number was supposed to be.
Two?

I think they should have done a special one for E. Annie. Maybe like a Lifetime Achievement one, because we're not likely to see such an achievement again in our lifetimes.

I, of course, meant Brokeback Mountain in my previous post. I've already raised $1.75!
Am I right in thinking the 'Broken Four' are Heath, Jake, Michelle and the film itself? I just want to know where my money's going.
No waiting for me. I've had my copy since Saturday. Thanks for thinking of me, though.

Check with HR people!
And Bso, we're going to have entirely different and very exciting campaigns for when Brokeback premieres on PPV, and then again on Premium Cable, On Demand, and LOGO.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements from elsgr8, Luscious and myself on how YOU can get involved!
And Luscious, you Sneaky Pie Brown, don't pretend you're not going to buy SEVERAL more copies to help Brokeback become the most successful first week of sales DVD EVER!

For RobbieJ:
If the Academy got it wrong with the Best Picture award and it was all part of a vast homophobic plot, how can the Oscars that were awarded to the film have any validity? If the voting body "does not get it" for Best Picture, they don't get it at all.
This is why I am demanding that Ang Lee (Winner! Best Achievement in Directing for Brokeback Mountain), Gustavo Santaolalla (Winner! Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score for Brokeback Mountain), Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana (Winners! Best Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published for Brokeback Mountain) return their Oscars immediately. Only when they have been returned can the healing begin.
OOOOOOH!!!!!
I get it now.
Just to be clear, I don't have to hear that Ossana woman give a speech again, right?

Annie didn't have her specs on. That's who she was listening to when she decided people at the Oscars ceremony were self-important, bless her heart.
as a straight man i can testify to the transmogrifying powers of bm. before this film, i was, like many straight men, completely ignorant of the ways of the gay cowboy. but bm opened my eyes and my heart and my bile sack to the wonder that is e. annie proulx, ang lee, larry mcmurtry and diana ossana's almost transparent knowledge of the soul of the gay cowboy. i think that on top of our acknowledgment of this masterpiece that we should all take a moment and recognize the good work being down right here on bww by findingnamo to increase our awareness of what is still a criminally underrated film. thank you, namo. and thank you e. annie proulx, ang lee, larry mcmurtry and diana ossana. 2005-6 would not have been the same without you. and thanks to all of you, gays will never have any problems ever again.

Oh papa, thanks for the overly kind comments but I don't do this for the recognition or the thanks or the praise. I do it for the film. The film.
just know, namo, that among those of us who care about what's really important, your selfless devotion to the bm does not go unnoticed, pal.
You know what's really funny?
Not this.
It got old about the same time everyone kept starting new threads proclaiming it the best film of all time.

Bway is right. There's nothing funny about Brokeback.
