She was the definitive hoot with Martha, though for a second I thought she pissed the diva off, when she said "I hear those issues are big with women your age..." or some such. The silence was defeaning a beat, then Martha charged on, and they continued to get on famously. Frankly, La Stewart is pretty mellow these days on camera, more open and loose than ever before. Guests like Amy -- and any cute men she can enjoy (a new side of Martha) -- are bringing out the best in her.

Also, didn't Amy look beautiful? Sometimes, she almost reminds me of Julia Roberts.

I still remember Ana Gasteyer as Martha on SNL. Good Times.

I watched this too, and thought it was a riot. I love how Martha just played along, and was either oblivous (in some instances) or just didn't care (in others).

They were a sublime match though, and Amy kept saying the most outrageous personal "jokes" to Martha. And Martha would either react or not... but you could tell they really liked each other.

And it's a testament to Martha's knowing "what works" that she posted it on her Web site.

Good for her.

BTW... I REALLY enjoy Martha on this show. The talk show/cooking show format is a surprisingly good fit for her.

Some days, it even seems like she's the new "Ed Sullivan." Not such a bad thing.

they made lady baltimore cake & an "autumnal wreath".

they've met before...a few years ago, they were both on conan o'brien & amy taught martha how to make a prison grilled cheese sandwich!

so i think theres a lot of affection respect between them.

I think Amy was too smart for the room. The audience didn't get her at first.
