Animation

Does anyone know how to make something animated on the computer? As in make it move? Using paint program, or something simple and generic? If anyone knows of those animated dolls, or AIM icons that change and are like tiny movies or whatever, that's kind of what I want to learn

I sincerely doubt that Paint does animation. I realize you're asking for simple, but all I can give you is complicated, I'm afraid. :)

The programs I know of that will probably do some kind of animation are late versions of Photoshop, PaintShop Pro, and Animation Shop. Try a LiveJournal community like icon_tutorial for more information.

Flash seems like too much for an animated icon. For something like a .gif, you want a more traditional graphics program. Why use...oh, I don't know...3D Studio Max when you can use Fireworks, to use a couple of weird examples?

Guys, thanks for your suggestions, i'll try them out definitely. But i remember vaguely reading once that you can make a low-grade animation using paint programs (you have to open many paint applications at one time and then do something)... And I was wondering if anyone has learned something like that. Thanks for your help anyway!

Right, that's why I mentioned Paint Shop Pro, which is simpler than the Photoshop/ImageReady combination. The plain old Paint that comes with Windows isn't going to cut it. Updated On: 6/19/05 at 04:34 PM
