Harry Reid on Social Security. Problem is: Social Security is not guaranteed to anyone. It is a benefit, not a right.

Funny how Goth starts these threads & then when asked about something he can't answer he just leaves & starts another one. Two days ago its was the 'Al Gore is Fat' thread. Yesterday it was the "Clinton NOW says Iraq is a mistake'thread. Now today its this. (sigh)Does Goth have ANY credibilty? Let's consider the bigger picture, Goth. Isn't it a shame that Social Security, be it a right or a benefit, has been pissed away by mismanagement and the squandering massive amounts of money on fighting a ludicrous war that is based on lies.

I really am not in the mood to listen to Bush supporters complain about a Democrat telling a lie, unless it's a whopper with serious consequences.

Now, what is your problem again?

I can help with the erect part, MA...but the moral part kinda takes the fun out of it.

SS is a government program just like any other, and so long as I'm paying for it, which has been for the past 15 years, I want it up and running and doing its job. It's budgeted just like defense, not held in one of Al's lockboxes. But Tom Friedman is quite correct when he calls for a New New Deal.

The point I'm trying to make is that SS gives you no guarantee. As it currently stands, the government has the right to decide who gets it and who doesn't.
