DG - Luckly there weren't any hecklers at the meeting. Sometimes there are, and it's really sad. Most people clapped and seemed to appreciate it, which is a good thing. I guess they got the message.

As a part of a MLK day project my ten year old put down that she wanted "All Democrats, Republicans, gays and straight people, blacks, white and hispanics all to get along."

I thought the Dems and Repubs request was funny.

The Hunt Continues

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Robida's been arrested, but a police officer who tried to apprehend him and the female passenger in Robida's car were both killed by gunfire, first. What a tragedy.

This is my favorite line from the AP story:

"Robida was a high school dropout who friends say glorified Naziism but never expressed any specific prejudice against gays"

He was ONLY a Nazi...

Robida has died following the shoot out.
Robida is dead

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Thanks for the link. I just finished looking at it and I'm sickened. I second BorstalBoy.

The myspace is really frightening.

Here's a quote from Nelson Mandela's autobiography.

"I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there is mercy and generosity. No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. Even in the grimmest times in prison, when my comrades and I were pushed to the limits, I would see a glimmer of humanity in one of the guards, perhaps just for a second, but it was enough to reassure me and keep me going. Man's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished."

Let's all hope this is true.

Reading that MySpace page makes me think we are all doomed if that is our "future".

What turns people into that?

It sounds to me like he had mental problems. May he get whatever's coming to him in the afterlife, good, bad, or in between.

It does make me want to know what drove him to those actions? What did he possibly think would be the outcome? When did he turn bad?

His friends seem to love him dearly--though many of them likely share his pov. But what is facinating about seeing that page is that one rarely gets to see the other side of these stories: the people that care about this person and don't understand/believe what happened, etc.

I've always wished I could know if people are born to do bad things. Was he born with all that hate? Was it the way he was raised? I would assume it was the environment he was brought up in.

And then, he thought he was doing something good. So how much can you hate him?

When I saw it on the News I was horrified. There's something wrong with people on this planet.
