B-Day Coming Up - Respectable Place For Drinks...Advice

I have a b-day coming up next weekend, and I want to get some advice as to where I can go out with a friend of mine for drinks. Money is not an issue..

I want to find a nice place for drinks - something classy, sophisticated, crowd age 28 - 34...there abouts. Just drinks, possibly an appetizer. Midtown is preferred.
And a place where there are classy guys would be a huge plus I guess some place like Will Smith in "Hitch?" Like a classy lounge or something.

Any advice? And would I need to make reservations? Either Fri or Sat, not a problem. Thanks.
