Posted: 5/9/10 at 10:59amCheck out the side bar. There are lots of skits that got cut that are from rehearsals.I've never known SNL to post cut sketches before.Betty is just as good in the cut sketches as she was the ones they kept. It's like having a second SNL episode.

For everyone who liked the Census sketch, it is a homage to an old skit with Christopher Walken -- he is hilarious.

I thought this was a great episode. Now that I know the Debbie Downer sketch was cut for more Jay Z it makes me hate his long drawn out performance more than I already did.
The census sketch was brilliant. I'm guessing Tina must have written it.
How many people live here?
Zero
You don't live here?

Such a brilliant show last night--we were howling all night. Loved Betty White so much as well as the guest starring ladies. Miss them so much.
Proved that SNL needs to have more ladies on the show methinks.

I thought it was a good episode, perhaps not the best of the season, but it was nice to see all the women on the show. Was Abby Elliot not there (except in the digital short)?
While it would have been nice to see Debbie Downer in the show, watching that sketch makes me think we didn't miss much. I liked Bronx Beat, though.

"Piper, she has been asked to host a few times in the past and refused. When the petition happened, her agent told her she needed to do it this time. She has talked about it on talk shows this past week."
thanks. i thought there must be some background there. all of these "stamina, trouper" statements. she is 88, not 108. I know women of 92 who still golf 18 holes, do an afternoon hike and have minds of a 19 year old. Betty is way spry.

Piper, I am glad you apparently know women who have found the fountain of youth.
Let us mere mortals be impressed with what Betty White was able to do last night.

Posted: 5/9/10 at 3:16pmYeah, I have seen people half her age tire after the show's intense rehearsal and blocking process. She paced herself very carefully and was able to give it her all when on air.

"Proved that SNL needs to have more ladies on the show methinks."
So true. I Watched SNL for the first time in ages and I was surprised that Kristen Wiig was the only female regular star. And the last one mentioned. That may be because of her name, but still I thought,"Where are the women in this?" until they got to her name last.

Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes

Posted: 5/9/10 at 3:37pmThe names of the cast are announced alphabetically, which is why Wiig was at the end.

There were one or two clunkers last night, but all in all the best episode of the season by far!
Also, is there any hope of Molly Shannon ever doing Mary Katherine Gallagher again? I was crossing my fingers for it last night...
