Did any of you see that series premiere last night? It's a reality show about Jonathan Antin, a hair stylist entrepeneur in West Hollywood, FINALLY making the big time by opening a shop in Beverly Hills.

It was unbelievable. The shallowness of everyone involved, mainly our hero Jonathan, is mind-boggling. He comes across as the gaaaaaayest human being -- obsessed with appearance, bitchy, snipey, sarcastic, over-emotional, condescending -- yet it seems he's a total poonhound. Even went as far as not hiring a stylist that was "auditioning" for his BH locale -- yet called her that night and set up a clandestine meeting for a little bang-bang. ew, ew, ew.

And apparently it's a really big deal to cut hair in a big ol' salon in Beverly Hills. WTF are they -- rock stars? They still have to go to the state boards and pass the tests like all the hairdressers that do blue-haired little old women, don't they? I don't get it...but then, I'm not one of the beautiful people in CA.

DISCLAIMER: I stumbled across this show after Disc 2 of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE was deemed to be damaged beyond repair. P&P was my planned entertainment for the evening -- damn Netflix.

I actually watched it on purpose. Very Eeuuww, but I suspect not far from the reality of all high profile shops. Funny to me how he brought in his NYC "girlfriend" to open the shop. Those La la's will eat that boy for lunch. I'll watch again!

I was not impressed. In fact, I just deleted it from my list of things to watch. I tried, but it was just, well, it seemed stupid.

Also, why the heck would someone move from West Hollywood to Beverly Hills? As someone who lives in Los Angeles, I think I can say that for 'edgy', West Hollywood wins, and that they probably charged the same prices for a haircut and will gain very little. Also, the rent difference will kill them completely. Such a stupid show. That's my rant!

What they need to do is create a gay reality show called "You're Not F***ing Straight!!" where they find a real closet-y guy and then send in really hot gay guys to hit on him while we the audience get to enjoy all that squirm! Maybe even Hugh Jackman could make a guest "predator"...

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I hate this dude... seriously, every time he opened his damn mouth I wanted to punch him. Example: when he was on his way to the therapist, everytime he would see a girl he would go, "Did you see that?" What a tool! Regardless, I want to keep watching it because I'm excited to see him fail. This is going to be fun!

"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
