I've been through this kind of post previously.
**No words--not even Mom, Love or "Taurus"; not even initials .Think Johnny Depp stuck with "Wino Forever" on his arm;
**Nothing trendy-Mickey or Tweety--yuck; Tastes change. Everybody's does.
**Classic images only-no show logos; shows close, tattoos do not.
**Smaller is better than large
**Few is better than many (which translates to one small image)
**Do you have any idea how hard these things are to cover with make up? See Nic Cage swimming in Leaving Las Vegas--on the pool deck there's no tattoo on his shoulder. This becomes a different case when he and the cameras go underwater.
Get it in a place that the sun does not readily shine which does not mean your butt; try the inside of your ankle. Sunlight/burn can cause the image to blur.
Sagging skin can cause the image to blur. get it somewhere on your body that is naturally toned.
Get it somplace where you can see it which means not your back.
Think before you do it at all. Stay sober. Don't do it on a whim.
Personal experience: mine is a tern, 2" long on the inside of my left ankle. I spent a year deciding to get one and another year deciding what and where. I love it, but I knew that it would limit roles if I went back to acting (which I haven't).

Posted: 1/3/05 at 4:17pmI am Jewish and if you have a tatoo you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery. If I could have one, I would have IDINA in bold letters across my tuchas.

Well... sort'a kind'a... it's basically a composite my two best friends and I got... we thought it out very carefully, actually.
It's the image of the "Fosse" poster of the male dancer with the bolo hat, foot in "passe" behind his other leg, holding his hat with one hand, the other hand flexed. That's "me"... I'm the dancer/actor with a total obsession with Bob Fosse (since before it was cool to have a Bob Fosse obsession); instead of the bolo hat he's wearing a cowboy hat for the guy that's from Texas, and he's sporting wings for our other friend who's more of a free spirit. Alas... no pix... it's in my upper thigh... WAY upper thigh.

I work at a restaurant in the theatre district and when I go out front to smoke, I often see a guy walk past me (maybe he lives in the neighborhood...) with many show logo tattoos on his legs.
He looks kinda burly so maybe he's a production staff/crew member type.
I'd guess that he gets tattoos of shows he's worked on, but can't be sure. He has probably 10 or so that I've seen...
Interesting for sure!
