Maybe this is just highschool for ya, but from my personal experience, it is impossible to get through an entire production without at least a few people hooking up and declaring they're in love.
And even more people hook up at the cast party on the last night!
I guess it's inevitable, I mean, a bunch of outgoing, confident people spend all their time together for months, usually being forced to expose themselves (emotionally I mean!) at least a little, and then on the very last night they will be working together, they have a few drinks!
What do y'all thing? Is it because I've only worked with teenagers or is that just theatre in general?

Hmm... I would say it's only in high school, but when I was at SOSU, we had a few people hook up during shows.
None declared their love though.

Posted: 2/3/06 at 6:25pmThere is usually some sort of sexual tension somewhere in a cast. If not more. At least in shows I've been in.

I agree lol.
I guess about the whole teen love thing where it isnt real. I guess in some cases it is, but when you spend a lot of time with one another for a long period of time and sometimes kissing is involved hookups can be common

Posted: 2/3/06 at 7:55pmIt's not just in high school. It happens in all theatre. It happens in all professions. It's the same as people who meet in class and then start dating. Right off the bat you know you have something in common. When you spend time around other people, you become friends or develop interests in eachother.

Posted: 2/3/06 at 8:08pmYes, but sometimes people like eachother before the shows, and the fact that they spend so much time together, or play romantic interests, helps develop the relationship.

Posted: 2/3/06 at 8:11pmThis is especially likely if the romance is between two cast members that have that kind of relationship in the play. The fact that you're in that role, no one can really help starting to believe it a little.
