Christmas Sights in NYC

Posted: 12/4/13 at 8:12amHey everyone! I made a post awhile back asking for cool sights and restaurants to see in NYC since I was starting college here. Now I was wondering if any of you could help with a Christmas edition? What are some really great store windows, and places decorated to go by and explore? I know of Rockefeller Center, the Union Square and Bryant Park Holiday markets. Thanks for any ideas :)

As far as windows, I always love Lord & Taylors.
Check with some of the churches because many do free concerts this time of year. I know that St. Patricks does a wonderful choir performance. And I think Marble Collegiate also does a nice program. You might also check with St. John The Divine.

Not something to watch for hours, but I like to go look at them for a few. There is also a huge snowflake over 5th Avenue at like 58th-59th street. It essentially is right near Tiffany's.

The Messiah at Saint Thomas Church on Fifth Avenue is spectacular. Its the only church in the USA with a full time choir school, so the boys choir provides the soprano chorus voices. Also, they use period instruments and everybody dresses up.

I'm guessing all of the cute little shops at Bryant Park, Grand Central, and Union Square will be gone by then. But, do the stores leave their window displays up or am I too late for that?

Thanks for the answers.
Jane, do you know specifically what you are looking for? I can recall some of the little kiosks set up in Vanderbilt Hall.
