That's one thing all Hillary's foes keep disregarding; she's said over and over again that she has no intention of running for President. She must know how aggressive the opposition would be, and how all the bogus, tired "scandals" (Whitewater, Lewinsky) would be dragged up and overanalyzed yet AGAIN, and how vicious the late-night comedian onslaught (which is more effective to most people than political ads are) would turn out. Who would willingly put themselves through that? She's suffered enough.

I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

I would agree with Al Gore / Hillary Clinton, or Oprah, but Oprah has got a big deal with Nike and stuff like that, and they're one of the most evil companies around so maybe it's better to have a completely unbiased person. But that kind of person doesn't exist.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Derek Mahon
