from no less a friend than the NY Post: First Mom Barbara Bush yesterday walked past rows of poor and ailing refugees at the Houston Astrodome, then said, "So many of the people here . . . were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

MArgo, you do realize that would have no effect? Long ago, when the Bush family sold their souls to the devil, they were blessed with certain attributes, one of those being no longer needing to breathe.

Remember, this is the woman who ruminated, infamously, on how she didn't want to use her "beautiful mind" to contemplate "body bags..." returning from Iraq. I wonder if she'll use her beautiful mind to consider the Louisiana bodies who haven't been placed in bags yet, because they're floating in that fetid gumbo.

Prayer from a pre-Katrina NOLA resident...
Dear Lord of all things, hear my prayer.
We live here in New Orleans, an antiquated hell hole.
The buildings are hundreds of years old.
My neighbors and family all live in their own homes.
We are made to eat food that we make ourselves and drink water that comes out of a tap.
We have a toilet that will flush away the waste, but we have to pull a lever to make that happen.
Our telephones are nice, but if I want to call my children or friends I have to push some buttons.
Our electricity is working, but sometimes my husband will play the television too loud while I am trying to sleep in my own room on my own bed.
Lord, could you not send a hurricane or some other natural disaster to relieve our hardships?
Perhaps a flood would be just the thing to make these horrible conditions in our desperate lives disappear.
Let me sleep in a huge place with thousands of strangers and eat food that the government sees fit for me to eat.
Let me not be certain of where my children are or if they are even alive.
Let me know that I might not have a home to worry about or a mailing address where loved ones can reach me.
Let me have a bathtub or toilet that I share with total strangers. I long to hear babies cry all day and night from hunger and discomfort.
Lord, take this awful life away.
Dear Lord…Barbara Bush is a Saint, a living Saint. Perhaps she could help us realize that there is a better way of life than the one we are forced to endure.
Please send help…
Hear my prayer.

I thought nothing could make me feel more ill and angry that I already did, but I was wrong.
This woman deserves to find herself in the plight of those who are currently in situations "working very well" and then open her pie hole.
I'm just sick, someone get me a bucket, and then toss it on that foolish old woman.
Shame, Shame, Shame.
