A friend went to a midnight screening last night and said it's absolutely fantastic.
The scariest movie in the last ten years, according to her. She said it's hilarious too, and campy fun.
I really hate horror movies but I want to see this really badly...

I saw it this weekend and LOVED it. Complete over the top campy, scary fun. Sam Raimi is a master at setting up scares and playing with the audiences expectations. If you get a chance I recommend going to see it in a crowded theater. It fun to have a good collective scream/laugh.
It was great to see a scary movie that was entertaining and fun instead of the of torture movies we've had in the past few years.
Plus...any movie with a talking demonic goat is automatically a winer in my book.

Im sorry but as excited as i was for this, me and my fella came out disapointed.
He tries to do his com,edy horror but it ends up un scarry and not that funny.
It relies on silence to jump scares which all failed.
Where with the Evil Dead he managed to balance comedy and horror with great ease, this time it just felt disjointed.

Posted: 6/1/09 at 12:28pmI saw it yesterday and I still don't know how I feel about it. It had A LOT of "jump out at you" scare moments and "gross out" factors, which were really effective but there was hardly no suspense. The ending was kind of a let down for me. I mean, I liked how it ended but there was no build up or anything. It is in the vain of Evil Dead so if you like that, then you will like this. But, after all the postive reviews, I went in expecting to be scared out of my wits. I didn't happen.
