Anybody else watch this last night? I think it's my new favorite show. Ricky Gervais (star and creator of the original British version of The Office) has a winner with this one. And Kate Winslet was brilliantly funny in the pilot, spoofing herself as Oscar-obsessed and her phone sex advice was priceless:


Maggie's Boyfriend: So all that stuff about "polishing your husband's Oscar", was that supposed to mean his willy?
Kate Winslet: Yep.
Maggie's Boyfriend: And your basement?
Kate Winslet: My fanny.

Next week's episode with Ben Stiller looks great too.

Ah I LOVE Kate Winslet even more now than I did before.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

We really want to see this, but we don't get HBO. Hopefully, it will end up on DVD. This man is quite the comedic talent. THE OFFICE (his version) is one of our favorite comedies ever. And the print ads alone for EXTRAS made us laugh.

i loved it. at first i was like how can he top the office but this is just as great.

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It was great! Even better than the season premire of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The Office was wonderful, and I can't wait to see the next episode.

I caught up on the first episode of this today and thought it was absolutely hilarious! I second the Kate Winslet love for what she did in this episode.

For some reason, HBO is airing the episodes in a different order than they were aired in the U.K. (over there, the Kate Winslet one was #3 of 6 total, whereas next week's with Ben Stiller was originally the first episode).

For those who don't have HBO, the DVD is being released in the U.K. next month, so hopefully the U.S. edition won't be too far behind.
