This always seems to happen to me. It happened with A Walk to Remember, The Westing Game (ok, that was a book, but still). And now, it has happened again. I just ordered the film The Man in the Moon off of amazon. In the synopsis it says a tragedy strikes, and I made sure to check reviews I read for a spoiler alert. I scrolled down quickly when I found that. And I went on Yahoo Movies to see what people thought. And without ANY warning, almost every reviewer spoiled it.
Just thought I'd rant, and ask if anyone has had this happen to them, too.
Titanic
The Passion of the Christ a LONG time before i saw it. The twist where he comes back to ife was TOTALY spoilt for me.
yes... The Others... a professor told it during a class while i was in college... while it was still at the movie theaters. i was mad.
I found The Crying Game to be an incredibly boring movie if you already knew the twist going in.
I knew the ending of "the sixth sence" and "the usual suspects" before I saw them. it sucked.

I never saw it (or ever had the desire to), but last year my English teacher told the ending of the Notebook to everyone in the class, he was comparing it to Romeo and Juliet so he also went into detail.
Pippin! I had the ending of "Usual Supsects" ruined for me before I ever saw the movie - and didn't know it. I knew who Keyser Soze was. Grrr.
TITANIC for me too. My sister casually mentioned it.
Rosebud is a sled!
I told someone I planned on seeing "Life is Beautiful" over a weekend, and the first words out of her mouth were..."you know he...............and .......in the end?, right?".
Never saw the movie.
The war ends, Rhett leaves, he's impersonating his mother, he shoots the dog, IT'S ACTUALLY EARTH IN THE FUTURE!, soylent green is people, he's actually been dead the whole time, he sold his watch but she sold her hair, Samus is a woman, his son was in the safe the whole time, and Luke, he's your father.
Just kidding :P Not that it would be hard, but you can play name the movie/game/whatever if you want.
I like to read reviews of movies/books/etc and I really, really hate it when I stumble on one that gives away important plot details of what it is I'm reading/going to watch. I despise that.

Jack gets gaybashed at the end. Poor Ennis.
I'm uneducated film wise, which ones are these: he sold his watch but she sold her hair, Samus is a woman, his son was in the safe the whole time

He sold his watch/her hair is Gift Of The Magi
I used to play "You Don't Know Jack" online years ago. Jack always made extrememly smart-ass comments when you got something wrong or when asking the questions. There was a new game every week so they were able to add current trivia topics. So, the week after The Sixth Sense came out in theatres, Jack said, "Hey, you know how Bruce Willis plays a ghost in The Sixth Sense?" Then Jack laughed hysterically and asked the question. Man it pissed me off.
The Sixth Sense. I was LIVID!
Someone told me that Jenny dies at the end of FORREST GUMP before I watched it. I was so mad!
Add me to the Sixth Sense list too. I would've LOVED that movie too if I didn't know the ending. I still liked it, but it lacked the shock that I would've had if I hadn't known.
That stupid Z100 stupid headed frat boy (whatever his name is) did it. Idiot. Or maybe I'm the idiot for listening to that crap at the time.
a review in entertainment weekly ruined "the others" for me. i don't even read reviews, but when i glanced at the grade the magazine gave for "the others", the review ended with the line, "and the sixth sense-like ending" completely gave it away and ruined the movie.
Million Dollar Baby.
An article about it in the paper revealed the end.

"The Game" with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn.
I was in the video store, looking at the sleeve, and this girl next to me started talking to her boyfriend "Oh, The Game was a good movie, I figured out before it was over, that (insert spoiler here).
I could have slapped her right then and there!

I'm trying to think of stuff... I can't remember any.
But the one where he's locked in the safe is from a really good movie! One of my favorites.
you guys are complaining about spoilers while giving away the ends of movies...
Million Dollar Baby and Brokeback. I was furious.
