PLEASE! I need help for you "fashion friendly" folk! I don't understand any of that stuff. I have been known to wear a brown belt with black shoes.
Here's the question. I am hosting a choir up here at my school all day tomorrow for a show choir competition that we are sponsoring for high schools. I have a black suit (It's actually my old show choir suit, but it is very nice.) Anyway I was wondering if it would be faux pas to wear tux shoes with it. The only other pair of black shoes I have up here are a pair of old clodhoppers that aren't in great shape. (Note:I will not be wearing the silver shirt and tie that originaly came with it.
) I will be wearing a blue shirt and tie (with blue in it.) Thanks. Geez I feel like I'm writing into queer eye for the straight guy here.
"I have been known to wear a brown belt with black shoes"
Is that a bad thing to do?
Clearly, I won't be offering any fashion advice here.
Hahah yeas my cousin who is a fashion queen just about died when she saw tha I was wearing a brown belt with black shoes. Good thing the belt was reversible. ![]()
Anyone...Can anyone help me!!!!!

it's fine to wear the shoes....i think.........i used to think i knew about fashion....ask me about girls' clothes and i'll be fine. but i THINK that the shoes will be fine.
Ah well, its off to bed I have to be up by 6 am and dressed to the nines and at Emens Auditorium by 7 am. Its gonna be a LONG day. Fun, but LONG!

I'm responding to this well after Stunn/Gunn has dressed for the day.
I don't think the tuxedo shoes will look bad with a black suit. As far as I know, "tuxedo shoes" are black patent leather and should look nice with a basic black suit.
Besides, when a fella is as handsome as Stunn/Gunn, people won't be noticing his shoes as much as his chisled features and piercing blue eyes.
Just don't forget to tszuj!
Good Luck!

Okay, so how did things go?
Who commented on your wardrobe?
Did you meet any nice girls there?
Were you faithful to me?
Well everyone I was up from 4:30 am yesterday til 2:30 am this morning. It was fun I hosted an all girls show choir
and the guy I was hosting with was gay so I had them all to myself! Haha. It was confusing in the morning because there were two other choirs from the same school and they all sat mixed on the bus which threw a wrench into everything because we needed them separate at first,, blah blah blah. Anyway after we finally got that all sorted out I took them through the motions then I was free to watch the mixed show choirs. One group came all the way from Hurricane, Virginia. My personal favorite was Lawrencwe Central a school from Indianapoilis. I didn't realize it until they announced the soloists that I knew someone in their choir. He was only a sophmore had the biggest solo and does that kid have stage presence. I see him going far. He's got a great voice, he is a great dancer, and like I said he has that stage presence. He had a few solo dance parts too and this kid made it look so easy. Anyway, their whole choir was amazing facials, the choreography was clean, and their vocals were wonderful. They swept all the awards at the end including first place, best choreography, and best vocals. It was nice because he had been in Les Mis over the summer that I did tech for and his sister who was in it too (Fantine) came up to see him. I like pleasant surprises. I also saw another person from that Les Mis (Madame Thenardier) who was auditioning for our school's Musical Theatre Option. Other schools present were Anderson, Dekalb (It was good but they just didn't sell it as well as LC did. They got 2nd), Hurricane, Lawrence North and there were more but I don't know if anyone would care to hear them. I was talking to the University Singers (Our college's entertainment organization) and they were saying how they liked my suit, when I told them it was actually my old show choir suit and it was from Rivars they were suprised. The shoes were fine I was worrying over something stupid. I really didn't meet any new girls, the competitors were way to busy to be bothered with flirting unfortunately for me, but I did get to know a lot of people up here at school better and I got to go on the stage in Emens Auditorium for the first time. (Even if it was only to clean up.)It was the first time I had set foot on a real stage since this summer! Even though I wasn't actually doing any performing IT FELT GOOD! haha Now on the true to you question Dolly. That is a no comment... All in all I want to see the Lawrence central show again, I should have bought the dvd.
The only travesty of the night for LC was that the guy I knew didn't win overall best soloist in the show, but I am biased.

Well, Stunn/Gunn, if you're not commenting, that means you were unfaithful. I'm used to it. I'm glad that I'm the one you come home to, though. I have no feelings left to hurt!
I was taught that you NEVER wear black and brown together - but of course that was 25 years ago and things change. We were also told not to wear navy and black together (which makes more sense). I think the tux shoes are a fine idea.
25 years later, black and brown are still a faux pas. You can get away with it if the brown is very light (more of a light mocha or caramel)or a green brown nad then it should be only brown pants with a black shirt, shoes and belt. Never wear a true brown or chocolate brown with black. And always match your belt and shoes.
I'd suggest you subscribe to GQ magazine, watch "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" or dress like Max von Essen.
you can never have enought hats, gloves, and shoes...
Black leather shoes. Spit shined.
