1. Pilates
2. Do the situps from side to side
3. Push-up position, stay up on your elbows- try for a minute
It ain't that easy to get a six pack, hun! I've been doing some Pilates for a month or two and it's just starting to form...but I'm fat to begin with, oh well, I'm another story.

Anyone with a 29 inch waist isn't getting my sympathy about a damned thing--
--but wait -- 5' 10, 138 pounds did you say?!... aha! Are you really Sigourney Weaver?!
Another hidden celeb at this board. We must root them all out, we pigs. You truffles, beware.

Posted: 2/9/04 at 10:53amu know some times the defined 6 pack just doesn't happen. It depends on anatomy, muscle mass, level of sub q fat. Keep persevering but don't get obsessive about it. Updated On: 2/9/04 at 10:53 AM

Posted: 2/9/04 at 10:55amCardio is important too, diet and doing the crunches the right way, form is everything.

Posted: 2/9/04 at 10:58amIf your twenty one you can usually pick up a six pack at the local convenience store (with proper id, of course!)

Posted: 2/9/04 at 11:39amMake so sure you give yourself at LEAST a day in between working your abs, or you'll be doing yourself worse than better. Your muscles need to repair themselves before being worked again (Repairing - get bigger and better :) ) So make so sure you take a day or two off before doing another 200 situps. And also make so sure you're doing enough cardio. Because no matter how many crunches you do or situps, without cardio its not going to show up as much or at all. Alter your workouts a little bit. DIfferent kinds of crunches (ie. holding your situp while your in contraction, side situps, reverse curls, etc) should be used so you don't get bored of trying to get that six pack. :)

"five foot 10, 138 lbs, 29 inch waist-help!"
I guess since you're a guy I can understand that you would want to bulk up a little in the muscle area; but speaking as a female here, I don't feel bad for you! :[
I'm 5"10, and I'm sure not any 138 lbs. lol Please! My goal weight is like 140.

that's why you don't change in a gym, you just watch everyone else change in a gym! umm... i'm so much worse off than you. i'm six foot 125 pounds. i'm the proverbial stick. Take jazz dance, that's my secret. i was in my best shape when i did jazz, even better than during my soccer obsession. make sure you're keeping your abs tight during your situps, cause other wise you'll have a six pack that's six inches out from your body, not a fun or sexy piture. i find it helps if you try to keep your abs tightened all day, through whatever you do. do not confuse this with sucking in, which only only takes minimal effort [for some]; i mean, conscious of the tightness in every bend and twist.
you've been doing it for three weeks; usually it takes about six weeks for any improvement to be visible in a muscle group. keep at it, don't be discouraged! at least you have the attention span to do something about your predicament!
