Wow, that woman is just so disingenuous, it just drips out of that interview.

If Madonna's so sure Gus Van Sant has heard of economist Jeffrey Sachs, odds are pretty high he also knows she adopted two kids from Malawi. A previously unknown tribe was recently contacted in the Amazon and even though they had no known contact with the larger world the chieftain knew she had adopted children from Malawi.

Well, art and this wonderful spirit, maybe.

And dear lord, is there any chance the actual movie she's making isn't going to turn out as bloodless as her lengthy description of it? Doubtful.

ETA I remember an interview she did in the same magazine with Mike Meyers back around Truth or Dare. She came across as so much less bourgeois back then. And she showed her hands in all of her pictures back then too.

I'm curious about something, Namo. Do you think it's all Madonna's fault that she started going down a safer path 6 or so years ago? It seems to me that she only got away with being provocative and pushing people's buttons when she was younger. Now that she's older, most people don't really care what she has to say, so that's why she's doing all of the dance music retreads.
