Democrats getting some BALLS!
===
“My worst fears on this bill have been realized. We have just seen the Republican leadership again resort to technical maneuver to block progress on this crucial amendment. It would be one thing for Republicans to vote against this bill. If they honestly believe that ‘stay the course’ is the right strategy – they have the right to vote ‘No.’
“But now, Republicans are using a filibuster to block us from even voting on an amendment that could bring the war to a responsible end. They are protecting the President rather than protecting our troops. They are denying us an up or down – yes or no – vote on the most important issue our country faces.
“I would like to inform the Republican leadership and all my colleagues that we have no intention of backing down. If Republicans do not allow a vote on Levin-Reed today or tomorrow, we will work straight through the night on Tuesday. The American people deserve an open and honest debate on this war, and they deserve an up-or-down vote on this amendment to end it.
“Given the Republican leadership’s decision to block the amendment, we have no choice but to do everything we can in the coming days to highlight Republican obstruction. We do this in hopes of ultimately getting a simple up-or-down vote on this and other important amendments that could change the direction of the war.
“All Senators will be welcome to speak their mind. Those of us who are ready to end the war will make our case to the American people. Those who support the status quo are welcome to equal floor time to make their case. Let the American people hear the arguments. Let them see their elected representatives engaging in a full, open and honest debate. Let them hear why Republicans are obstructing us on this amendment.
“Whenever Republicans are ready to allow a vote on this most crucial legislation, we stand ready to deliver the new course that has been so long in coming.”

Actually, Bill's curved "lefteous" not "righteous" and I wouldn't mind hearing that again.
However, "this deezurrrves an upawdown vote" curdles my milk.

Posted: 7/17/07 at 12:27amWell I'm sure that makes Bush happier. Personally, I don't think Bush's approval rating is exactly exciting no matter how you want to spin it :)

Please don't jump to any conclusions; that tends to confuse one.
No one could defend the Bush approval rating. However, noting that Reid's popularity is lower is to point out that he has no respect from the voters either.

"he has no respect of the voters either."
He was just criticizing my grammar in another thread! Incorrectly, I might add.

Everybody sing!
He was a famous poster from old BWW way
He had a posting style that no one else could play
He was the top man at his craft
But then he knew what to do and he was gone with the daft
He's in the army now, a-blowin' 'Raqi
Henry's the boogie-woogie bomber boy of Company B
They made him kill a towelhead for his Uncle Sam
It really brought him down, because he couldn't jam
The President seemed to understand
Because the next day the Shrub went out and gave him a hand
And now the whole world jumps when he bombs 'Raqi
Henry's the boogie-woogie bomber boy of Company B
A-toot a-toot, a-toot diddle-ee-ada-toot
He blows it eight to the bar - in righteous rhythm
He can't blow a note unless the Rove and the Bush
Is playin' with 'im
He makes the UN jump when he bombs 'Raqi.

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's response: an automatic filibuster on all votes pertaining to the Irag war.
The minority party wants to legislate depriving the American people of what they elected the the majority to do.
Between the "nuclear option" back when the Republicans were the majority and this permanent filibuster when they're the minority, the Republicans are guilty of a level of OBSTRUCTIONISM hitherto unknown to Congress.

The only place Harry Reid's popularity matters is in his home state. His constituents like him fine. GW bush's constituents- well that's another story.
So all these months you complain the Dems aren't doing anything- they do something now and you urge the Republicans to stop them?

I'm with Chita: IMPEACH the MF'rs!
They need to vote also to cut off the funding today. There is enough money already appropriated to get 'em home.

I plan to stay up all night watching.
Harry might throw in the towel.
Where is the "cut and run" clause in the constitution?
They (Reid/Pelosi/Murtha) should cut off the funding now.

Cutting and Running doesn't involve your incessant obsession with other's sexual fantasies.
It is amazing that anyone would take you seriously when you dodge and divert into personal attacks at every turn.
I thought that Bill and Hillary were against the politics of personal destruction?
