When I was 12 or 13 or so, a friend and I went into one of those booths at a Six Flags park and did a version of Will Smith's "Parents Just Don't Understand." I still have the tape somewhere.
That totally counts.

Posted: 4/22/08 at 9:23pmI appear on the Original Cast Recording of "Miss Lulu," an original show that has played around the country, but which premiered in Portland OR. Next month we go into the studio to record "Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera"'s OCR.

Just orchestra concerts. Some good, some bad.

Calvin - I have a couple of those! My friends in high school always wanted to record the same song, though...Twist and Shout.
You can hear my character getting beating and killed in the world premiere recording of the opera Resurrection by Tod Machover. I'm even in one of the photos in the liner notes (though not in focus). That was fun.

I recorded a demo of my own and another where I sang all the male parts for a new musical.
I LOVED being in the studio.

Posted: 4/23/08 at 11:18amI'm on a couple of music festival CD's. Those are cool. I love bringing them out and being like "Oh yeah. I sing opera."

I was wondering if that counted Cal, cause I know a few peeps who've recorded at the boardwalk, video and all, and it's a hoot!
I have a demo of me singing Billy Don't Be A Hero recorded at Seaside, but have no idea where it's at. Good thing, too.

We also did a music video to "Barbara Ann" (I wanted to do "Vogue" but was outvoted!), but that was lip-synced. And another of me singing "Friends in Low Places" and "Daddy's Hands" with a country-music-loving-friend and his momma.
But the others reminded me that I actually am on an album. Three, in fact. One released by the NYCGMC. The other is Barbra Streisand's and Barbara Cook's recent concert albums -- I'm part of the applause.

Was it the one at the Met? It was a fab duet, if so.

Indeed it was!
I am also on severl GMC albums, but since they make me stand in the back and sing really softly, it's not a claim I make often.

Posted: 4/24/08 at 12:17pmYou certainly can't hear me, although if I point me out, you might be able to pick me out on the group shot in the album notes. They always stick me in the back, too. Sucks being tall! But at least you always get to have the riser railing behind you as support.

Posted: 4/24/08 at 12:22pmI'm also on a Wash DC Metropolitan Church album doing some amazing clapping, enthusiastic ooh ahs and a boisterous halleluah, or two. But that was back in the cassette era.
