I've met both. Did you know the Queen has a flatulence problem? It' s really embarrassing for her.

And the Pope I met, but didn't get close enough to knock that silly hat off. The best I could do was shoot spitballs at it.

Taz, funny you should mention Betty's flatulence! (By Betty I of course mean HRH Elizabeth II- we're so close I call her Betty!) Anyway, when I first met her majesty, we were enjoying tea and I of course noticed her uncontrollable gas. I must have made a face because she noticed and said "Please forgive me, I have a problem- I frequently emit silent farts!"

I said, "Betty, you've got two problems! You've got killer gas AND you're deaf!"

I was once in the stall of a men's room next to his "hole-i-knees", as I like to call him. I couldn't see his face, but I recognized the ring. And I DON'T mean the one on his finger.

PEACE.

Tell me about it! You get a whiff of that and the best scones in the empire taste like crap.

does Dowager Empress Nicole of San Diego count? She's been around so long she's beginning to look like Elizabeths Grandmother, Queen Mary:

To actually answer the question at hand, I co-directed a command performance for HRH, back in 1985, she came onstage after the curtain call and spoke to a number of us involved in the production.

I actually met the Queen of England, when she came to Philadelphia during the Bicentennial. I thought she was beautiful in a flawless complexion sort of way.

HRH Princess Margaret was as close as I got. Our hospital is named for her, so they usta sober her up and trot her out for
photos. She liked barley water- which of course NOone in Canada had heard of.

I met Benedict XVI this summer. I was prepared not to like him but he was extremely gracious and down-to-earth. The two of us conversed in French, which he speaks fluently.

Yes, I have problems with his stand on many issues, but this wasn't the time for me to bring them up. I did, however, feel that I was in the presence of a great and spiritual person.
