Al Gore is doing great...and it's a HUGE crowd!

(My husband said he's been secretly hoping Al Gore would appear and miraculously seize the nomination!)

That was an astonishing speech. How can the GOP POSSIBLY compete with the quality of speeches this week and the vitality of what is being said. The reality of where our country stands.

I'm truly expecting a week of desperate bull**** bull**** and more bull****.

Looking back at the past 8 years, compare Gore to Bush. Bush got what he wanted, The White House. History will remember him for how he got it to. Daddy's rich friends and the Supreme Court. Bush will go down as the worst President ever. Meanwhile, Gore is respected way more now than he was in 2000. He is a Oscar winner, a Grammy winner, and a Noble Peace Prize Winner. His awareness to Global Warming has been recognized world wide. Gore, like Bill Clinton are loved worldwide while Bush and his cartel are despised and hated. Karma is a bitch George!

Oh, I'm sure in the coming weeks, this will all be spun into some sort of boring convention by the GOP.

It's all about the "spinning."

It's not what happened... it's what people "think" happened.

So, as wonderful as it may seem now... check back in a few weeks... hell, a few DAYS... and you'll see that nothing really great was said here.

That's what they'll tell us.

Check "back"? I was listening to NPR on my way home TONIGHT. In their attempt to be "fair and balanced," after they interviewed all these gung-ho Obamers--several of whom were Republicans who switched parties BECAUSE of Obama--they interviewed the head of the RNC. Do you think he had ANYTHING positive to say the Democratic National Convention?

Blah, blah, blah...Democrats won't keep any of their promises except their promise to raise taxes...blah, blah, blah...there's no "meat" on the bones of Obama's plan...blah, blah, blah, he has two years of experience but McCain has a rich and decorated career of service...blah, blah, blah.

It was a fantastic speech.

But watching Al Gore speak always makes me somewhat depressed, because it makes me realize how much better shape our country and the world would be in had he been elected made President instead of Bush.

Frank Donatelli also said, "Obama keeps talking about 'change.' What does that word even mean? I like the word 'reform.' That's what John McCain is...a reformer!"

It was so funny because the NPR guy (I forget who it was) was silent throughout Donatelli's diatribe. Then, when it was over, the interviewer said, very dryly, "Thanks so much for joining us, Frank." Then he just went on to the next thing without comment or transition!

He changed my mother's mind. She was not going to vote. She just couldn't make herself vote for McCain and she didn't think she liked Obama. She decided that she will vote and vote for Obama. She's a southern woman who almost always votes republican. She had to call and tell me!

The entire speech was superbly delivered, but the first 1/2, was pretty much the same old same old, and certainly wouldn't win anyone over. The second half was great.

My husband and I are still choked up. He just said, "It makes you feel like you can get up in the morning." Then he started crying.
