I have to have surgery next friday. I have to have a colonoscopy and biopsies, which I've had before, but I'm still upset about this...

It does suck big time and is a major inconvenience. Good wishes go your way. You have no idea how good the wishes.
But to get real Pollyanna about it, better now than a year or two or three from now.
Get rid of the crud, and get strong and stay healthy now.

The biopsies during the colonoscopy will be painless. I assume they will "float" you with a light anesthesia. That's standard procedure. You may have a small amount of discomfort following it, but you should be fine by the next day.
It's ok to be scared when your health is the topic... sending you hugs and best wishes.

I'm very worried about my heart though, since I have be be made to fall asleep... I have a heart problem and I think I'll be fine but still nervous...

The only painful part for me is that 3 years ago I joined the synagogue where the gastroenterologist is a member. Every Saturday morning at services I must confron the man who looked up my tushy!
