And my icon is Judy Kaye from the play Souvenir (2004)
She's our 21st century Judy goddess. It's time to let our 20th century Judy goddess R-I-P.

Do you think Tyne and Tim have a brother/sister Dorian Gray thing going on? The older they get, she'll get uglier and he'll get prettier?
#11re: I'm Sure Tyne Daly Is Pissed
Posted: 4/8/05 at 3:30pmI've often had that very thought, ConvinceMe.
#12re: I'm Sure Tyne Daly Is Pissed
Posted: 4/8/05 at 3:34pmI'm pretty sure Tyne is quite happy that she doesn't look like a man.....
#13re: I'm Sure Tyne Daly Is Pissed
Posted: 4/8/05 at 3:37pmActually, she does look like a man. She may be happy though.

I still remember him in some Tina Howe play at Circle in the Square, in which he bared his bottom.
I don't remember the play, but I'll never forget that butt...
(Apologies to the very talented Ms. Tina Howe if she posts here.)
I'll never forget that butt...

I saw Tyne in her one-woman play downtown in the mid-to-late 90s - I think it was called "Mystery School" or something like that (I'm having trouble focusing today!)...it was amazing - SHE was amazing - it was 5 monologues in which she played 5 different women - and each character was so wonderfully realized - it was one of the best things I've ever seen in New York.
Ahh - just looked it up -Mystery School - "for which she was nominated for a 1998 Outer Critics Circle Award for best solo performance."

#17re: I'm Sure Tyne Daly Is Pissed
Posted: 4/8/05 at 4:19pmI dunno - but I find her to be extremely talented and beautiful on the inside (she sent a very nice response to a fan letter I sent her) - and isn't THAT what it's all about, really?

"I don't remember the play, but I'll never forget that butt..."
It was well formed. I wonder if it still is?

I do not think she is ugly. I think she is quite a good looking mature woman.
That said, her brother is amazing looking and should be encouraged often to not wear clothes.

Posted: 4/8/05 at 4:33pmTyne Daly is best described as a 'handsome woman.' Is that a compliment?
#21re: I'm Sure Tyne Daly Is Pissed
Posted: 4/8/05 at 4:35pmShe always was full figured and @ this point in her life makes no pretense @ disguising it. Bravo to all the mature women who say Hey I like me the way I am !( Yes that does include my own damn self!)

Thanks, Margo! I totally forgot Annette Bening was in that play--and I usually love her!
Ah, the power of a pretty tushy.
