What was something you loved about 2004?

I raise a glass to all of you, and share with you a favorite Billy Joel song:

Now we take our time... so nonchalant,
And spend our nights so bon vivant.
We dress our days in silken robes,
The money comes, the money goes...
We know it's all a passing phase.

We light our lamps for atmosphere,
And hang our hopes on chandeliers.
We're going wrong, we're gaining weight,
We're sleeping long and far too late.
And so it's time to change our ways...
But I've loved these days.

Now as we indulge in things refined,
We hide our hearts from harder times.
A string of pearls, a foreign car...
Oh, we can only go so far... on caviar and Cabernet.

We drown our doubts in dry champagne,
And soothe our souls with fine cocaine.
I don't know why I even care...
We get so high and get nowhere.
We'll have to change our jaded ways...
But I've loved these days.

So before we end (and then begin)-
We'll drink a toast to how it's been...
A few more hours to be complete,
A few more nights on satin sheets,
A few more times that I can say...
I've loved these days.

I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

While I have had a huge love affair with BWW (and many of the participants) this year... there are some other things I've loved as well.

In no particular order:

Finding Neverland

the 40th Anniversary release of Mary Poppins

The Olympics in Athens. Especially Paul Hamm.

"How I Paid For College..."

discovering creme brulee truffles

I love that song so much! I'm glad you used to real version, not the edited movin' out version, it's such a good song.

My fondest (mostly theatrical) memories of 2004:

-TABOO's closing night performance
-LA CAGE's opening night party
-CAROLINE, OR CHANGE
-SIXTEEN WOUNDED
-"Finding Neverland"
-"Garden State"
-"Million Dollar Baby"
-"Napoleon Dynamite"
-ASSASSINS
-BARE!!!

can't think any more

definitely agreeing with THOSE two words as well as adding few of my own:

-extended version of Return of the King(still not as great as the book, but hey, nothin's perfect)
-having a wonderful, relaxing Christmas break (so far)
-special friend M. up in Jersey
-all the love and support of my family as usual, never ending.

i haven't seen any broadway shows except les mis and phantom and that was last year, so new years resolution #1: see more shows!!

Finding BWW and meeting some interesting people here...some who have become friends.

Reading a book that not only made me laugh, but reminded me of old times and old friends, when life was easier ..."How I Paid for College"...meeting the author and his partner was another wonderful memory from 2004.

Traveling to Hong Kong to visit friends and meeting one of the sweetest people and becoming and remaining friends with him.

Spending a week vacation with my sons and showing them around Chicago.

What a great idea, Addy, thank you.

Spending time on these boards, and with BWW friends on and off line.

Being cast in a show which brought me warmth, confidence, and more new friends.

The best part of 2004, however, was finally landing the job of my dreams. I am very blessed.

Becoming addicted to this quirky, but thoroughly enjoyable place.

Meeting the wonderful peeople that I have met, some nice some not as nice, but all excellent characters and people I enjoy.

Some great plays, excellent musicals, superb movies, thrilling concerts, beautiful books, and relaxing vacations.

Wishing you all happiness and health in 2005.

-Seeing my first Broadway show(Wicked), and then my second(Wonderful Town), in less than 6 months.

-Getting a fantastic new voice teacher.

-Starting high school.

-Meeting Kristin Chenoweth hehe

And just like everyone else said, getting addicted to Broadwayworld.

And so much more, 2004 was a great year :o)

What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

~ Finally appreciating the "magic" of Broadway that I had missed out on for so long.
~ Stop pretending with myself and actually getting to know who I really am.
~ Finding who and what truly matters in life!

EDIT: I have to add meeting my favorite star, Susan Egan, a few times re: I've Loved These Days Updated On: 12/31/04 at 10:22 AM
