Very funny SOMMS. I was with my sisters, I could have borrowed theirs.
I have heard that Steve Walsh is back with the band and they tour small clubs.

I've been in a Kansas frame of mind lately, so it's cool to see this post! I love Carry on My Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind. Great, great vocals.

Robby Steinhardt (the violin player for Kansas) went to my junior high and high school. I remember him working at the local record store (Kief's Records) when I was a kid. I think he sold me the "Sister Mary Elephant" 45 from Cheech & Chong. I kid you not.
...Needless to say, he quit that day job not too long after.

Posted: 5/11/06 at 1:14pmI know they had more than one singer. Who sang lead for Dust in the Wind and Carry On? Was it Lynn Meredith?

LOL!
Sorry for that thread-jack, but every time I think of Kansas (the group), I remember Robby selling me the "Sister Mary Elephant" 45 at Kief's!
It's a very strange connection between the two... but there it is, nonetheless.

I think it was my threadjack, so you are off the hook, B12B.
And to get back, I dont watch Supernatural, but I know I've heard it recently on another show...Dust in the Wind, that is.
One of the great songs of the 70's.

I love Supernatural.
And I love Kansas.
The Elefante brothers of Kansas (John was the lead singer) became hyper-Christians and started a record label called Pakaderm. They released their own albums but their biggest success came producing the Christian rock movements answer to power ballad rock bands like Journey: Petra.
Oh, those were the days.
