well, they were desperate. Kiss Me, Kate opened in London to some of the best reviews I'd seen in a while and promptly nose dived at the box office.

It is definitley a sexy picture. Once, many years ago - I was sunning on the lawn at Sheeps Meadow in CP, and suddenly this beautiful guy in skimpy shorts and tennis shoes walks his bicycle across the lawn to a place in about the middle of the crowd - lays down his bike, slowly strips out of the shorts to a very tiny bikini, and, I tell ya - you could hear a pin drop in the park for about 5 minutes. Then he lays down on the grass.
It was Michael Berresse.

Sorry, no. At that time, he wasn't the name that he is today, and I'd only seen him in one thing (One Touch of Venus, at City Centre - where, by the way, he appeared in nothing but a flesh-colored dance belt because he was a model for a life-drawing class in the show)....there's something very hot about him, that's for sure - and now that I've actually spoken to him at the stage door of Piazza, I know that he's a sweet guy also. He tends to walk around with a very serious, kind of dour look on his face, but once you get him into conversation, he smiles brightly and lights up. I like to find that out about performers.

For me, Berresse was the weakest link of the production. I couldn't stand his performance and he was way too gay.
