On Sundance now.
Still great after all these years.
I need to get my arse to the video store!
odd that I have seen Anne of 1000 Days at least 12 times, yet have never seen the other movie.
I got that dvd combo for Christmas! I've never seen either one of these films.
"Anne of a Thousand Days" was a big fat hit, back in the day... and it was up for 10 Oscars.
Genevieve Bujold is wonderful in it.
Mary Queen of Scots in the Dadeland Cinema 1
and
Nicholas and Alexandra in Dadeland Cinema 2
How wonderful was that for this twelve year old?
What is it about soon-to-be-murdered royalty that makes them so compelling?
I don't know. What would Jung say?
Because...
We love to see people who presumably have everything get it taken away from them in such a final and ultimate act of judgment.
And I, like Bette Midler "have always loved Royalty - Queens and that lot".
Soon-to-be murdered queens, as PJ says???
I don't know. What would Jung say?

To be honest, this is always what comes to mind when I think about Mary, Queen of Scots...
"Are you Mary, Queen of Scots?"
I still think Glenda Jackson is the best Queen Elizabeth I ever.
