I was surprised, but pleased to see Pan's Labyrinth at the top of the list. I'm also lucky enough to have avoided all 10 of the worst reviewed movies of the decade.

This is just like "The Story of Lucy and Jessie"!
I love Swoosie Kurtz!

I've only seen two of those in the best list and I only liked one of them.
Which two?

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, which I liked, as much as you can "like" such a harrowing and crushing movie.
Sideways just left me feeling blah. And I saw it early, so I don't feel like I was being reactionary to the hype. I just thought it was dull as dirt.
I haven't even heard of half the movies on the worst list.
Phyllis, couldn't agree more with you about SIDEWAYS. Blah and dull pretty much summarize it.
I really liked PAN'S LABYRINTH as well as CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON. And I too am glad to see I haven't seen any of the worst reviewed or heard of most of them.
It's fun to go on the site and look at some of the reviews for the worst films. Singing Forest got a Metacritic Score of 0 and sounds truly awful.
My bad it got a 1, not a 0.
I've seen all the bests except 4 Months, Hurt Locker and 35 Shots of Rum. Of the ones I've seen, the only one I didn't care for was Return of the King. God, that was tedious. I enjoyed Sideways, but I didn't think it was all that.
So STATE PROPERTY made the list but not STATE PROPERTY 2? Surely they jest!

I'm not sure there was a worse movie in the past decade than Georgia Rule.
STATE PROPERTY makes GEORGIA RULE look like GONE WITH THE WIND, PRS.

How did Ghost World land in the top 100?!?! What on earth did people like about that movie?
I saw 8 of the top 10. I didn't see The Hurt Locker or 35 Shots of Rum.
I can't believe Ratatouille was ranked higher than Wall-E. I liked it, but it was one of my least favorite Pixar movies, and Wall-E was up there with Finding Nemo as my favorite.
LOVE Ghost World
I adore Pan's Labyrinth. In my top five of the decade.
4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days is a movie I recommend only seeing once and never again.
Ghost World is amazing. I wish Terry Zwigoff got back in the thick of things, especially after getting stuck with Max Minghella in Art School Confidential.
I have to say Sideways is good but I like Citizen Ruth, Election, and About Schmidt a whole lot more from Payne. Mostly because I love the satire and how freaky it is I know people like the characters in the movies.
Return of The King had 87 different endings. I firmly stand behind Kevin Smith in debating "The Trilogies".
I don't know anybody who saw Spirited Away.
Wall-E and Ratatouille were great but there are so many great Pixar movies this decade.
I like the guys from The Whitest Kids U'Know so I was really considering seeing Miss March. I guess I'll wait when it is available on terrestrial channels on the dish.
The Hurt Locker is finally coming to my cinema. So psyched. I am definitely doing theater checks on Sunday.
I loved the book of Sideways, but the movie didn't really do anything for me. Nice to see Spirited Away up there, even though My Neighbour Totoro will always be the most wonderful Ghibli movie!
I had no idea it was based on a book. Now I know why the Payne touch of character neurosis was missing. Giamatti was subdued from his other films in comparison.

i recently re-watched Pan's Labyrinth... haven't seen it in a year or so... i absolutely love this movie and I remember seeing it in the theater and just overwhelmed at the end... the audience was quiet and nobody left... they just say there in silence for a bit... it was just a wonderful movie to watch... the ending is just the perfect blend of happiness and sorrow...
My sister hated the ending and we got into a fierce debate that about the main character. Definitely not the most conventional pathology of a lead character.

Of the ones I've seen, the only one I didn't care for was Return of the King. God, that was tedious.
what could you possibly have found tedious about watching elijah wood's eyes bug out at the screen with the same goddamn facial expression while he bitched about how he couldn't go on, then sam reminding him about how beautiful the shire was while sappy music was playing in the background, then frodo's face melting and him saying, "oh, sam." or with liv tyler thinking that saaaaaaaaaaaaaaying ehhhhhhhhhhverything aiiiiiiiiirily maaade her sound iiiiiiiiiimortal?
I especially agree with the choice of the worst movies. "Hottie and the Nottie" was a flop so as other movies on the second list.
